House of Mud

Great for a staycation, as a work-from-home alternative. Our mud house is walking distance from the sea. It has an earthy ambiance as it is constructed with mud. A part of our family house yet very private as it is separated by a garden. Some important locations - French Heritage Town 1km, Rocky Beach 1.2km, Aurobindo Ashram 1.5 km, Railway Station 3 km, New bus Terminus 3.4km, Serenity Beach 4km, Auroville Bakery 6.5km, Auroville Matrimandir 11 km, Paradise Beach 11km There's a double bed for two on a raised cement slab can accommodate a 3rd person on a slightly narrow spare mattress. The front wall is completely openable to the sea breeze or closed to the noise of children playing in the street outside. The roof is nice to sit and stare at the stars at night with the dogs as friendly company. I'm home between 6pm and 8am and during 12-2pm. We lived next door and will be present at your arrival. Your privacy is important to us....Let us know if you would like some interaction or not. The neighbourhood is an interesting mix of fishermen and local Tamil people. In the evening one can hear children playing outside. Many people are surprised to discover the beautiful oasis that is our house. We are centrally located. Its a place to unwind after experiencing the touristy part of Pondicherry. At present we are offering a discount as there is a construction happening next door and it maybe a bit noisy. Pondicherry is a small town, specially the French Heritage area. The best way to explore is to rent a cycle or two wheeler. We can book a taxi for you to the Chennai Airport. Public transportation is easy here, Autos (3 wheelers) are also common. We are less than 15 minutes by foot to the French Town. There are three resident dogs and two visiting dogs. All are friendly.
