Large room, super-king-size bed, with separate but virtually en-suite shower room. In July/August, 3 nights minimum booking if booking Sunday-Thursday evenings. Under COVID restrictions you will be the only guests in the property. Professional anti-COVID 19 fogging machine between guests. Fantastic low-level and high-level walks straight from front door, including Striding Edge/Helvellyn. Self-serve breakfast (not cooked). Can take families/groups in additional rooms. Enquire for details. 1 large room with super-king-sized bed (can be split into 2 singles). Also, during COVID situation, exclusive use of large downstairs room (also used for breakfast). Small drying room. No pets. Large area of off-road parking. Bedroom, private shower room (virtually en-suite as the door is screened from anyone's view by a thick curtain across landing), breakfast area/sitting room, garden. Morris and Judith live in the house. All bedrooms are on the same landing. Morris is the local vicar (but not a stereo-typed one!) and works part-time. He also runs Mountain Guiding activities, is a probationary member of the Mountain Rescue Team, and a Community First Responder,...and runs dance events sometimes, so might not be around for much of your stay. As this is the local vicarage, we would expect guests to understand and honour this, and be respectful not only to other guests but also the wider neighbourhood. Thank you. Patterdale is in the heart of the Lake District, with beautiful mountain scenery all around. The route to the famous Striding Edge on Helvellyn can be accessed from our front door, the Coast-to-Coast goes past our front door, as does the Ullswater Way. Ullswater Steamers and hire boats are 10 minutes walk, and Aira Force waterfall 4 miles away. Great walking area. Mountain-biking. Fishing (subject to permits). Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick and Penrith are all within 20-25 minutes drive. There is very little phone signal in this valley, other than Vodafone. House has very good wifi. Bus stop from Penrith to Windermere via Kirkstone Pass is 100 yards away (but only runs from Penrith to Patterdale in the winter months). Nearest station is Penrith (15 miles away). Bus stop to Patterdale is outside station. Loads of beautiful drives in all directions. Fantastic local walks of all kinds (high or low). We do not take single night bookings during COVID-19 situation. Minimum of 3 night bookings during July/August, if booking is between a Sunday and Friday morning. If we are out we will give details of how to gain entry shortly before your visit. The church bells in the church opposite, about 100m away, ring every half-hour. Most people don't notice them, but you might if you are a light sleeper. We can also usually offer 2-course evening meals at £10 per person, depending upon our availability.
