Wombermere: Double bedroom with ensuite
Wombermere is an Edwardian cottage of significant heritage value situated 600 metres from the CBD in historic Goulburn. Built in 1922 for Mrs Stevenson, the cottage has high ornate ceilings, spacious rooms and generous outdoor areas. It is an easy walk to pubs, cafés, restaurants and shopping centre. Wombermere is the perfect place to lie in and contemplate the ornate ceilings, or to sit quietly in one of the relaxation areas during your visit to Goulburn and district. We offer one spacious private bedroom (4metres x 4 metres) with ensuite. The bedroom boasts central heating, television, bar fridge and reverse cycle air conditioning. Ensuite has in floor heating and modern appointments. There is a large breakfast/sitting/reading room with bay window. The sitting room is furnished with period furniture including comfortable lounges for relaxation, reading or a quiet chat with friends. A period dining table and sideboard provide the breakfast facilities. Outdoors, there are protected veranda areas and garden spaces for quiet relaxation. Covered off street parking is available for two cars. There is secure courtyard parking for motorcycles and/or bicycles. Wombermere is a level 600 metre walk to Tatts Hotel, The Astor Hotel and the Corner Cafe. Shopping centers and all other services are only a short walk away. Visitors can stay at Wombermere and enjoy the historic values of Goulburn; the rich rural landscape of vineyards and village pubs; Wakefield Park, the Speedway, Harness racing or the Goulburn Music Club. Hop over to Canberra, the nation's capital in under an hour. A visit to Parliament House, the War Memorial, the Sound and Film Archive, Australian Museum or the theatre are a few of the many attractions within easy reach of Wombermere. We respect your privacy during your stay at Wombermere. We offer concierge service, but once you know how everything works, we leave you alone. If you do need something, you only have to give us a shout and we will assist you in any way we can. Wombermere is situated in the heart of a significant heritage area in Goulburn. On either side of us, in our quiet street, there are worker's cottages of significant historical value including unique timber semis built in 1881 by coachbuilder William Stewart. The whole precinct is highly significant according to NSW Environment and Heritage Local access is easy on foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car. Trains run between Goulburn, Sydney and Canberra on a regular basis as do air conditioned coaches. Local taxis will take the worry out of a night out at one of the local clubs, pubs or fine restaurants. Should you wish to purchase your meals from any of Goulburn's excellent food venues and bring it home, we offer a full size dining table, refrigerator, microwave, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Should you be unfortunate enough to have to work during your stay, there are quiet areas with wi fi access for you to use your lap top or other devices.
