Cosy Bunk Room in South Wales

This is a lovely twin room with bunk beds in a terraced house. The bunks each have a fully sprung mattress. There is a hanging space for clothing and shelves for storage of other items. There is a shared bathroom, with a shower. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen / dining area and the main lounge, and the arrangements for this can be discussed when you check in. Please note: This room is in a private home and cannot be guaranteed allergen free. The room has a bunkbed, with 2 fully sprung mattresses. This room can be booked with the double, for a family, or as a twin room The host is a practising artist, who works from home, so the house is filled with individual, unique and creative pieces. The panoramic landscape of the valley provides inspiration and many pieces have been inspired by the hills around the area, and this is reflected in the house and gardens. I provide a continental style breakfast, with choice of cereals, fresh fruit, plain yoghurt, croissants and toast, and of course tea and coffee. Please contact me if you have any specific requirements Guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen and dining room and the front lounge with a wood burning stove, please just let me know your individual requirements. Guests will be given keys to the main door and may come and go as they need to, without disturbance. Please don’t forget to leave the keys on departure I am available during your stay, please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything special that you need during your stay. This is a small village in the Ebbw Valley very close to the Forest Drive, walking and mountain biking trails and the stunning Sirhowy Valley walks. Cwmcarn Forest offers something for all the family. The visitor centre provides a selection of gifts and homewares; as well as finding out about what you can do in the area. It is the destination for all you downhill adrenaline junkies, with a steep climb at the start followed by a rollercoaster decline with dramatic views of the Bristol channel and surrounding hills. There are also many walks in the area, depending on how far you would like to go. We are 20 minutes from Newport with a regular bus service every 10 minutes. There is a train service between Cardiff and Ebbw Vale every 30 minutes. If you are keen walkers it is possible to leave the house and be in the forest in 5 minutes, with hills all around. The village of Cwmcarn has a few shops including chemist, butchers, convenience store, post office, pub and three take always; a Chinese, a fish and chip shop and a Tandoori place. During the day buses into Newport run every 10 minutes. There are train stations close by in Cross Keys and Risca with a service every half hour between Ebbw Vale and Cardiff. There are no parking restrictions on George Street, but I would ask that you respect my neighbours and the limited space on the road, and park your vehicle by the Church if you are staying for more than one night; obviously please park closer on arrival and departure. Phone signal can be limited in the area, and in Forest Drive itself there is no signal. But this may vary across different networks. Bikers are welcome and there is space in the front garden to lock them up.
