The Estate The En Dardé estate is an ensemble of forests, grasslands and a Château from the 1800s. The estate you will be staying on – ‘En Dardé’ – is situated at 700m high in the Motagne Noire, a spur of the Massif Central. It consists of 90 hectares of privately owned land with 4 gîtes that are part of a fully renovated Château and a detached ‘Bergerie’. On the estate there is a number of streams and small waterfalls and at least half of the estate is covered forests with different kinds of coniferous and deciduous trees. The other half consists of stretching meadows covering rolling hills. It is a prime location for hiking and mountain biking. During your hike it’s very likely you’ll encounter a myriad of forest creatures like deer, squirrels, and different kinds of birds. Besides animals, there are also different kinds of species of plants and flowers. Among which are lovely little purple orchids. You can also spot a large amount of different kinds of birds on the ‘En Dardé’ estate because it is situated right in a bird migration route. The estate is ideal for summer picnics and sledding in the winter, but, above all, you can ensure you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the estate’s rural life. There plenty of room for children to play, and this vast estate offers ample adventurous exploring for young and old. The Château There are five independent gîtes on estate ‘En Dardé’. Four gîtes are located in the Château itself and these are available for 10, 2 to 5, 2 to 7, and 2 people respectively. Every gîte offers a lovely view, a lot of privacy, and their own terrace. In and around the Château great care has been taken to maintain the numerous authentic curiosities, like the small indoor chapel and the completely restored original 200-year-old front door of the large gîte. There’s also the original ‘four à pain’ (bread oven), the drying house, and a ‘pigeonnier’ (pigeon loft). You can also enjoy the delicious and fresh mineral water we tap directly from the estate’s wells. All bedrooms have comfortable, fully made beds with bed linen, duvets, and extra pillows. All single beds can be slid together to form double beds. Available for your convenience there are a junior bed, junior seat, highchair, and crib. Relaxation There is plenty to do around the estate as well as on the estate.
