The West House near Wells, sleeps 8

The West House is the recently renovated self-contained wing (1/3) of a beautiful Somerset Rectory with use of its own walled garden. The cottage offers luxury accommodation for families & friends or can be used as a retreat for people working away from home. With a good sized ground floor & 2 bedrooms on each of the 1st and 2nd floors, the house can be rented as either a two or four bedroom property. It's within walking distance of Wells & close to Glastonbury, Street, Bruton, Frome & Bath. On the first floor The West House has 2 King Size bedrooms, one of which has zip mattresses that can be turned into 2 singles. Both have ensuite shower rooms and one has a luxurious freestanding bath. On the third floor the 1 twin bedroom and the 1 king size bedroom share their own good-sized shower room. On the ground floor there are 2 reception rooms, one with a large log burner and TV, one with a foosball table, plus a well-equipped and welcoming open-plan kitchen with seating for 8. The kitchen leads into a private walled garden with BBQ and seating and there is parking for 4 cars. (NB, there is no access to the lawn at the back of the property). We also keep hens and we provide 1/2 dozen fresh eggs as a welcome gift along with a bottle of wine, butter and a homemade cake. Throughout the rest of your stay you are more than welcome to buy our eggs and home reared pork joints for roasting. If you would be interested in hiring a private chef at any time during your stay this can also be arranged. Whole House and The Private Walled Garden West House guests will have access to the whole of the West House which includes 4 bedrooms over 2 floors, 2 ensuite and one separate bathroom, one cloakroom, 2 reception rooms, ( 1 of which is a games room), 1 large dining room/kitchen and a private walled courtyard. You will have your own front door and no-one else will have access to the property or walled garden during your stay. Guests will also have access to the private walled parking area at the property. We will be in the main house next door for any questions or queries. The West House is in the charming village of Dinder in the stunning Somerset countryside, nestled at the foot of the Mendip Hills, within walking distance to the beautiful cities of Wells. It is also within close distance of Bath, Bristol and the wonderful towns of Bruton, Frome and Glastonbury. An award winning pub is within walking distance in Croscombe. The Glastonbury Festival site is just 3 miles away and we are conveniently placed for a number of prep and public schools including All Hallows, Wells Cathedral, Millfield and King's Bruton. We are local to Wells Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Clark's village in Street, Hauser & Worth in Bruton, Babbington and The Newt at Hadspen House. You can walk from the house into Wells along 2 miles of bridle and footpaths through the beautiful countryside. There is a bus into Wells and Bath from Dinder village and this will also take you into Shepton Mallet in the other direction. We are close to train stations at Castle Cary, Bruton, Frome, and Bristol Airport is just 15 miles away. We are also within 1/2 hour of the M5 and A303. Parking: We have space for 3 guest cars, one in the yard opposite the house in front of the grey garage and two either side of West House front door. If you need to bring more than 3 please message us. EV charging: There is no EV charger at the property, the nearest is at Morrisons, 1.5 miles away. If you wish to charge an electric vehicle through making electricity there will be an additional cost of £15 per charge. Please let us know if you intend to use this facility. As mentioned before, there is no access to the main garden.
