Little French Retreat with stunning hillside view

A charming country house with stunning hillside view of the valley below in the village of Montesquieu. A quiet location close to medieval market towns and bastide villages. There are many hiking trails that lead directly from the front door. You can walk from as little as one hour to the whole day. The accommodation is comfortable, decorated in neutral calm tones with plenty of space and an acre garden. A traditional country house built in 1880, with a private terraced garden, wood and wild meadow. The main entrance leads onto the first floor where there are 2 double bedrooms with private bathrooms, then a large open room with vaulted ceiling that is used as a yoga studio. The attic bedroom offers climatisation with a private shower room and toilet and an additional two beds on the open plan mezzanine. On the ground floor is the kitchen, laundry room, dinning room, living room and terrace. There is an outdoor monsoon shower to cool off in the garden during the summer months. The front door leads to the roadside opposite the ramparts of an old castle site. The oldest part of the village where the road is very quiet and not a main route. There is space for 2 cars. Montesquieu is a quiet rural village located on a hill in the site of a castle ramparts. The surrounding woodland offers many excellent walks and the house is close to neighbouring bastide towns and villages that host summer night markets. The nearest village shop is Serignac 3 km away or Bruch 2km. The pretty Bastide towns of Nerac and Vianne are 10mins away by car with Lac Damazan water sport park 15 mins from the house. The house offers wonderful views and has easy accessibility to the Canal du Garonne and River Garonne. You need a car or bicycle to travel as the nearest amenities are 4km. Bedlinen, towels, hairdryers, iron and ironing board are all included. Each room has a super king bed that can be separated into 2 single beds. There are also two further beds: a queen and small single suitable for a child. Providing a total of 8 beds.
