Beautifully renovated, to the highest specification. All comforts have been thought about, from a luxury bed and bedding to a large walk-in shower, full kitchen and sitting room with TV, DVD and satellite. The barn offers total rural peace yet is only 5 minutes from the busy town of Barga. Voted in the top ten prettiest towns in all Italy. It also made Tatlers list of must see places in Tuscany. An area of outstanding beauty, with amazing hiking, biking, but is especially famous throughout Italy for its food. This is the authentic Italy, where locals still live off the land, stock their wood piles, tend their small holdings and make their own wine. It is off the typical tourist hotspots so is still exceptional good value to eat and drink out. This detached barn, and private pool, is in the grounds of the owners home and offers a romantic location for couples, or a fun place for small families. 2 acres of dry stone terraced land, Dotted with al fresco dining areas, a wood fired oven and a BBQ. Set in the wooded Corsonna valley, with views of the Appenine mountains, there is no light pollution, traffic or immediate neighbours, a tranquil oasis to guarantee a beautiful nights sleep. The private infinity pool with a Baja bathing shelf overlooks the river and has views across open paddocks to the mountains. There is a well stocked organic vegetable and herb garden, fruit trees, grapevines and huge dry stoned terraced garden to enjoy. The fantastic medieval walled city of Lucca is only 35 minutes away. Florence 1hr 40, Pisa airport or the coast approx 1hr 10. Barga also has a good train service if you would rather leave the car behind for these easy excursions. We offer a Tour Tuscany service. This has come about by popular request from our international guests. Leave your bags, car and worries behind to go off by train to explore Florence, or Cinque Terra etc for the night. People have discovered they don’t want to give up the peace and comfort they have found at the barn, but having travelled halfway across the World it is only right that Italy’s heritage sights must be seen. We offer free transfer and collection to the Train station and will hold your accommodation, without full charge, over the missing nights Please ask for more info. From water rafting and canyoning to horseback riding, mountain biking or hiking for the adventurous. Restaurants, bars, cooking lessons, wine tours and fiestas galore for the more sedate, we can help organise an itinerary to make up your perfect Tuscan holiday. Folding city bikes are available to hire at the barn, or by arrangement we can have MBT, racers or ebikes delivered for rental. It is worth mentioning, June is for the "fireflies". The locals say, when the fireflies arrive, so has Summer. Having no light pollution at the barn, yet plenty of woodland, we get the most incredible display from these magical insects. Nature will decide when Summer has arrived but there is typically a month of catching this display. July and into August are the Barga music festivals. 2019 dates to be confirmed, but 8 Piazzas, within the Old town, offering 8 different live bands pretty much every night of the week.
