Please note that Phnom Penh is a very busy city and tends never to be quiet for long, if you have never been to PP before, you will hear lots of moto’s using their horns. If you require parking, there is a 24h parking area right in front of the apartment at a minimal cost of (1,000 riel or $0.25) per use or time. Check-in Standard check-in time is 2pm, especially when there are guests checking out from the apartment on the same day. However, we are happy to accommodate your early check-in request when there are no guests in the apartment on the day you check in. Feel free to contact us if you require this. Self check-in is not practical in PP/ Cambodia, particularly if you’re new to the city/ country. The reason is that Cambodian house numbers are neither assigned properly nor shown explicitly on the premise, which makes locating the house/ apartment or its entrance difficult. To make your check-in experience as smooth as possible, we normally suggest the following options: • Airport transfer/ transfer from bus stop by our trusted English speaking tuk tuk driver, who can also check you in on our behalf. He is happy to wait for you at the airport/ bus stop with your name on a paper. This is very helpful for us and strongly recommended especially if your arrival time is late at night, or when we are away from the city. It saves all the hassles and only requires an additional cost of $10 (from airport)/ $4 (from bus stop) paid directly to the driver. • If you wish to get your own transport to the apartment, we suggest taking one of the taxi or tuk tuk drivers waiting outside the arrival area. These can cost about $12-$15. Ordering a GRAB or PassApp tuk tuk or taxi is normally cheaper (around $5-$8), but less convenient and more time consuming, because they are not allowed to wait around in the airport, so they tend to request for you to walk outside the airport’s gate located by the main road to meet them. Once you sort out this transport and arrive at the apartment’s entrance, you will be met by ourselves or our friend who can show you the apartment and check you in. The meeting place will be shown in the House Manual after you’ve made your booking. Check-out Standard check-out time is 11:30am to 12noon. This is to allow us to have time for cleaning in time for the next guests to check in. However, if we do not have anyone checking in on the day you check out, we are more than happy to allow late check-out. You can do a self check-out with our lock box located on the wall outside the gate. Please kindly turn off the lights, A/C and fans, and close the doors/gate properly before you check out, then drop the keys in the black lock box. The code will be shown in the House Manual after you’ve made your booking. We speak fluent English and Khmer and are in Phnom Penh, so help is never too far away. Phnom Penh, if you haven’t been here before, is a city which at one end of the spectrum offers very surreal and emotional moments for tourists, given the recent history of the country and at the other, where the city never sleeps. Phnom Penh caters for all, whether you are a tourist, are here for work, or simply a vacation. Street 130 is a street which leads from the riverside into the city via one straight road with intersection roads taking you in many different places. Towards the riverside end of the street there are many bars and restaurants, these include bars where girls are hosts. Please note, if you are a male, the girls may try to call you as you walk past to get your attention. A polite no thank you and or to ignore them is the best response, if you do not wish to go there. As you walk up to street 130 to our accommodation, you come more into the Khmer area, where there are lots of people offering food for sale on the street and where there are corner shops for all of your essentials. The neighbourhood by definition of the fact that you are in the capital is vibrant, it can be noisy at times and there is always something to do. We would recommend all guests to download either PassApp or Grab as an app from your App store. PassApp is a local app preferred by the locals who are not tech savvy as this app doesn't require them to pin down destination, just pickup location. Grab is an Uber app for South East Asia. These Apps make getting around so much more cheaper and convenient. You can order taxi’s and/or Tuk Tuk’s from the Apps and you then do not have to pay local Tuk Tuk drivers, who tend to increase the price by an extra $ or two. We have a trusted Tuk Tuk driver, who is Khmer and who speaks English. He can provide you with a tour or can take you to a place of your choosing if you require. You will just need to let us know and we can provide you with his details. The apartment is in a block of four separate apartments from the first floor to the third floor secured with a common lock at the entrance on the ground floor, approached from a small alley at the back of the buildings facing street 136 and those facing street 130. Upon entering the apartment's block, you almost always smell cigarette odor from the apartment on the ground floor, but this will disappear once you reach the first floor, where a nice Khmer family lives, and where you will sometimes smell their food. Our apartment is on the second floor at the right hand side.
