This traditional stone building provides ground floor studio accommodation. There is a king-size bed and a double sofa-bed which can accommodate an extra 2 guests if you don't mind a bit of a squash! Accommodation comprises: – Cosy living area with wood-burning stove and double sofa-bed. – Kitchenette - counter-top oven with double burner, full-size fridge, microwave oven, toaster and kettle – Sleeping area with comfortable King size bed and hanging space. – Shower room with basin and w.c. – Garden room The Byre does not pretend to offer luxury accommodation but a clean, cosy retreat for those who wish to escape the rigours of everyday life and enjoy all that this glorious part of the country has to offer. Guests have sole use of the cottage and garden room. Parking is right outside the front door. Our guests are welcome to use the garden bearing in mind that we have dogs and chickens! We are here to help if you need us, so don't hesitate to knock on the door or give us a call. I may call or message to check that you are ok but, unless you need something or just fancy a chat, we'll leave you to it! The Byre is in the grounds of our own Irish cottage but has no near neighbours on three sides. The views over the countryside stretch for miles and the garden is a haven for wild birds. On a clear night the spectacle of the stars is enhanced by the lack of artificial light. The Market towns of Bantry and Skibbereen are within easy driving distance, as is the Wild Atlantic Way and the border with Co. Kerry. Both Bantry and Drimoleague are starting points for various walking routes including The Sheep's Head Way and The Drimoleague Loop. Public transport is limited in the area so in order to fully appreciate it, we recommend you have use of a car or a bicycle for those of you who are fit enough to tackle the hills! Please be aware that we have two friendly dogs who are free to roam around the grounds, so please be mindful of where you put your feet!
