Welcome to this delightful cottage set in the picturesque village of Helmdon, Northamptonshire. Hillcrest Cottage has been recently renovated and offers a charming getaway. Its traditional roots have been preserved and juxtaposed with modern home comforts, including a quirky basement ‘cinema’, to create the perfect stay. It is ideal for an escape to the countryside, be this for a relaxing weekend, hunting out some adventure, or if working locally and required for a longer period. I am contactable at all times and have family who live in the village and they are on hand to assist. There are lots of things to see and do locally and here are just a few examples: • The area boasts a wealth of natural beauty and offers some brilliant walks, cycling and running straight on the doorstep. • Helmdon is perfect for pistonheads as Silverstone racetrack is just a 15 minute drive away. • Hilcrest Cottage is 35 minutes from Milton Keynes where you’ll be able to enjoy everything from restaurants, cinemas, and shopping to the more adventurous GoApe high ropes course, watersports at Willen Lake, the Snozone indoor ski slope and the iFly indoor sky diving. • For some high end retail therapy Bicester village is 30 minutes away • If in search of a more relaxing experience, Whittlebury Hall Spa and golf club is under 15 minutes away and there are a number of National Trust properties, beautiful manors and gardens nearby. Including but not limited too: o National Trust’s Canons Ashby manor - 8 minute drive o Sulgrave manor - 5 minute drive o National Trust Stowe Landscape gardens and school – 20 minute drive o Waddesdon Manor - 50 minute drive • Last but not least I’d recommend making the most of the plethora of farm shops, local pubs and restaurants in neighbouring villages as well as the Fat Landlord gastro pub, which is walking distance from the cottage. To get around you will require a car but on the plus side there is no problem with parking.
