The Cabin on Murrays Run
Surround yourself with nature and the local wildlife in The Cabin. Find yourself in a secluded wooden cabin, built from the local trees and hidden at the end of a valley. With a newly built bathroom and kitchen, a queen bedroom downstairs and queen size bedroom in the loft, the cabin is the perfect retreat. Insta us at @thecabinmr #thecabinmr The Cabin is a wood cabin hidden in the Australian bush- with some lovely walks in the surrounding hills and gullies.. It's a place to disconnect, with no WiFi and intermittent Optus phone reception. With a verandah that gets the early morning sun - the perfect spot to perch up with a book and drink your morning tea or coffee. The kitchen is equipped with a stovetop and pots and pans - including a wok, and outside the fire pit is the perfect spot for roasting marshmallows or, if you're feeling adventurous, cooking your dinner. There's a wood fireplace in the living area to keep you cosy in cooler weather. Above the kitchen and living area is the loft bedroom with queen futon bed. Downstairs is a new bedroom with queen size bed with electric blanket and the bathroom with an instant hot shower. The Cabin is hidden in the bush and all water is collected in tanks so we ask guests to please be conscious of waste. We live in a mud brick house across the valley, an easy 200m walk so if you need anything or to use the WiFi, you're more than welcome to pop by. The Great Northern Trading Post in Laguna, 10 minutes drive from The Cabin, is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have markets on the weekends. Wollombi is 20 minutes away with the famous Wollombi Tavern and it's even more famous Jungle Juice. There are a number of great wineries around Wollombi and both Broke and Pokolbin wine regions are about 40 minutes from the property so you can taste some of the best wines in Australia. The region is known for its Semillon and you'll also find excellent Shiraz, Verdelho, Chardonnay and Cabernet. Upon arrival you'll receive a list of great spots to go for food or wine. The only way in and out of The Cabin is by car (or motorbike). The last 1.5 km is on a dirt track which makes it feel like a proper remote escape. The track is fine for small and 2WD vehicle
