Magpie Cottage - heritage meets modern comfort!

Nestled inside an 1880s bluestone cottage is an elegant accommodation suite inspired by my visits to France and Europe. More than a private room, you have exclusive use of the heritage bedroom, lounge, master bathroom and study. The emphasis is on comfort and relaxation throughout the accommodation. You'll also have access to the kitchen and outdoor garden. Superfast wifi is available as well as zoned reverse cycle air-conditioning for year-round comfort. Parties of any kind not allowed. The spotted gum timber deck sits under a translucent all-weather pergola featuring festoon lighting and glory vine providing a delightful spot for an evening aperitif. I have a very affectionate Burmese cat who lives with me; if you’re very allergic to cats, this might not be the place for you. However, within reason, I can reduce his presence downstairs to minimise contact if necessary. Also, as a consequence, I cannot accept other pets with this listing! While on street free parking is generally available nearby, restrictions apply during daytime. Commercial paid parking is also available. Airport transfers in modern SUV available on request (at an additional cost). If the dates you require are showing as unavailable, please message me as I might be able to work it out for you. Guests will have private, exclusive use of the ground floor bedroom, lounge and bathroom. Other areas on the ground floor include the kitchen/dining room, outdoor deck and garden, and study. Within reason and subject to prior agreement with me, I will allow short visits from friends and family. However as this is hosted accommodation, I don’t allow hosted parties or events of any kind - including dinner parties - except by prior agreement. I will often be home and available should you want advice on where to go and how to get around. If I don't know the answer, I can call on a number of friends to help with advice on good spots to eat at or touring options around the city or beyond. Equally I’m also mindful of my guest’s need for privacy so the level of interaction will be entirely up to you. North Adelaide is a wonderful blend of heritage and modern convenience. Magpie Cottage is perfectly located just metres from the shops, pubs and cafes of Melbourne Street, and an easy 10-15 minute walk to O'Connell Street for supermarket, shops, pubs and eateries. Access to the free bus circling North Adelaide and the city is a couple of hundred metres away; regular paid bus services are also available from Melbourne Street; and you can easily walk to the Adelaide Oval, Botanic Gardens, Adelaide University or the city. I have public transport cards available for use by guests, on a pay-per-use basis.
