Our home has modern/contemporary decor with one acre of beautiful gardens,spacious outdoor areas & easy parking .Complimentry continental breakfast available. 1.4 klms to town centre. 15 minutes walk to railway station .10 mins walk to indoor pool and sports centre. .A double room is also available listed under Wangaratta Haven 1. Minimum stay 3 nights at Jazz Festival times . House is wheelchair accessible.We require you to have two covid immunisations and a booster before staying with us. Guests have access to their own private room .Bathroom and toilet shared with other guests. All in a separate wing of the house. Complimentry transport available to and from the railway station. Kerry and Keith are happy to welcome you to their home. It is located centrally, close to the heart of the city of Wangaratta(1.5 kms ) We have two rooms available, each sleeping 2 (Double or 2 x King Singles) and is priced at $100 per room per night. Continental breakfast is provided and tea and coffee making facilities are available in the kitchen. If you prefer , Wangaratta has many cafes where you can purchase a hearty breakfast to set you on your way. Some useful information Walking and cycle tracks are located in close proximity to our home - just beside our block in fact – so you can explore our beautiful region on your bicycle if you choose. There is a huge choice of things to do: wining, dining, visiting, relaxing and enjoying all that our fabulous region has to offer. One in the West End (Appin Street shopping strip) four in the city centre and one on the Eastern side .( Vincent Road shopping strip)) Banking Wangaratta has nine banks. The Commonwealth, ANZ, NAB, Westpac, Hume, ME ,Rural, WAW Credit Union and Bendigo Bank. There are ATMs at most of the banks and several around the city. The nearest ATM to us is in the Phillipson Street shopping strip. Bike rental There are plenty of cycle tracks available, with much of the region linked by cycling tracks and trails. G Great Alpine Road The Great Alpine Road (B500) is a country tourist road connecting Wangaratta and Bairnsdale, passing over the Alps. Please note during the ski season (June to October) ski chains are required to be carried and fitted where signposted. Check Mountain Resort and Vic Roads websites for more information. Pubs We have several very good pubs. Ask us for suggestions and directions. Porpunkah Pub is a 45 minute drive but well worth a visit.( You are advised to book for dining ) Q Quite a relaxing way to spend your holiday, we hope you enjoy yourselves in our region. ( You need to book here) S Security Please ensure that you have your keys with you at all times. Our doors are deadlocked. Smoking The accommodation has a strictly NO smoking policy. Stroll along the Ovens River The Ovens River flows through our city and provides a pleasant walk from the showgrounds to the city centre. The river walk is accessible at the showgrounds and goes across the swing bridges and into town. It is an easy, wheelchair accessible walk. Spring – Check out the mass of spring bulbs, green tip trees and lush landscapes – Average temperatures – 8 – 21 degrees Summer – Clear blue skies and warm / hot weather- Average temperatures –15-31 degrees ( does get hotter ) Autumn – Come and see our famous autumn foliage here and in Bright and the surrounding region. If you have never seen it, add it to your bucket list!- Average Temperatures – 8 – 22 degrees Winter – Frosty mornings and sunny days . Average temperatures- 2-21 degrees ( does get colder ) Wine There are many beautiful wineries in our region – King Valley, Alpine Valley, Glenrowan/Taminick, Rutherglen. Ask us about them.
