The Chicken Shed at Knowle Top
The Chicken Shed at Knowle Top was newly built in 2019 on the ruins of an old barn and decorated to the highest standards of industrial chic. Situated in a most unique location, high on the Ribble Valley side of Lancashire’s iconic Pendle Hill, it sits surrounded by sheep pastures where hare and fox come to say good-night. Despite this rural idyll, we’re only a five minute car drive from Clitheroe, one of the North-West’s nicest market towns. The views will take your breath away! In construction, we used the original barn stones as well as beams and structural parts that have been at Knowle Top for many decades. The open-plan living area is cosy yet modern, spacious and luxurious. The bedroom is a vision from a French chateau inside a high-ceilinged English barn. The ideal occupancy is two adults. The Chicken Shed is a detached space with its own private patio. If you choose seclusion, this is the space for you. However, the Yorkshire Dales are 20 minutes by car and the town of Clitheroe 5 minutes down the hill where you find all the amenities you could need. We live in the farmhouse next door and are always a phone call away The Ribble Valley is one of the U.K.’s best kept secrets. Within close distance of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, it has a little bit of everything, dramatic landscapes, soft rolling hills, picturesque little villages and also a cultural hub in the bustling market town of Clitheroe. The Ribble Valley is a food-lover’s heaven. 10% of Britain’s award winning gastro-pubs are located around Clitheroe. That’s the highest density outside of London. Hiking paths start from our doorstep and the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland is a haven for people seeking a more gentile pace away from crowds but in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a 3 mile hike from any public transportation
