Sura Medura lies on the beautiful Rathgama Lake in the fishing village of Dodanduwa. Serenely private on a peninsula of land where every tree is fruit or nut bearing Soul Villas is the ultimate chilled space. Thushara the Housekeeper and cook will prepare your breakfast to order for a small fee and is also available to cook other meals on request. Nearby you will find the picturesque harbour, stand up paddle boarding, lagoon tours and in nearby Hikkaduwa surfing restaurants and bars The villa is entirely yours for the duration of your stay. The grounds and communal areas are for you and your guests. We have 2 cots and 2 baby chairs for the use of guests with babies. There is also a barbecue. The villa has a housekeeper , a gardener and over night security. The lagoon is full of fish and seafood can be bought from the local market- or try your hand at fishing Guests can access all parts of the villa and its grounds except staff quarters and store The villa is fully staffed with overnight security, a gardener and Thushara our housekeeper and cook who has comprehensive local knowledge and can book tuktuks and and tours on your behalf. Dodanduwa has a working harbour. 5 minutes down the lane from Soul Villas you will find local shops and street food. Nearby there are also excellent restaurants. You can try your hand at Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding in the lagoon ( 5 minutes walk) and surfing or scuba diving in nearby Hikkaduwa (10 minutes by tuk tuk) . The beach is ten minutes walk away which is suitable for families and children. We can arrange tuk tuts for inexpensive local travel and cars or minibus can be sourced locally for more extensive excursions. It is 10 minutes by bus or tuk tuk to Hikkaduwa with its surf, bars, restaurants and nightlife. 25 minutes south is the historic city of Galle. We can organise tours to whale watching, wild life, lagoon and surf safari or to explore further afield across the island. You can be totally self sufficient in the villa cooking your own meals. Our housekeeper will provide breakfast for a small fee can also help you with shopping and cooking
