Grade II listed character cottage in the small market town of Beaminster. You have the best of both worlds with this picture perfect cottage where a good selection of independent shops, cafés, pubs and award winning restaurants are on your doorstep plus scenic walks and bicycle rides in all directions. Surrounded by rolling hills, Beaminster is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and features in Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d'Urbervilles as ”Emminster" in the fictional Wessex. The cottage has been tastefully decorated with Farrow and Ball colours and has original flagstone flooring downstairs with carpet upstairs. Consisting of two good sized double bedrooms and one single, a sitting room with wood burning stove, a small but well equipped kitchen, separate dinning room with study area and a newly fitted ground floor bathroom. At the rear is a good sized sunny cottage garden with a summer house and seating for alfresco dinning. The cottage is comfortably furnished with both new and period furniture. Enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep under 100% cotton bedding with feather duvets and pillows. The master bedroom can either be made up as two singles or a king size bed. Happy to provide suggestions of where to eat, drink and visit. Located in a quiet side street close to the central square lined with attractive period buildings and shops including butcher, greengrocer, baker, flower shop and a Co-op that stays open until 10.00pm. Just eight miles from the nearest beach West Bay and Jurassic Coast, 11 miles to Seatown and 15 miles to Lyme Regis. There are frequent direct rail links from London Waterloo to Crewkerne which is only seven miles from the cottage. We do recommend a car for your stay for exploring Dorset as well as Somerset and Devon which are all within easy reach although you may find that you’ll be perfectly happy with a good pair of walking boots and the occasional taxi. Unrestricted on street parking is available plus a nearby long stay car park at only £2.00 per day.
