Tasman hut

The Tasman hut is 1.5 years old. It is nestled in a quiet area, wake up to bird song, view the Tasman sea from your bed. Watch the gorgeous sunsets from your bed, enjoy a glass of wine and a long soak in the hot tub. You will feel at home, renew your senses, recharge your batteries. This is a wonderful area for bush walks, breath taking views, Piha is the best beach in N.Z, waterfalls all so very close. It’s just magical! The whole hut is for you to utilise, it’s very private. We live down the driveway, there is plenty of privacy. The hut has two double beds, one is the pull out sofa, if you require us to make the sofa bed it is an xtra $25, or to just supply bedding it is an xtra $15. Both are comfy beds. There is room to make meals and be in the kitchen comfortably. Also plenty of outside space and bbq. You will need to walk up a sturdy ladder to get to the top room. There’s a great little bathroom outside, with a compost toilet, awesome bath, and entertainment deck with an an outdoor couch. We appreciate if you don’t drive down the driveway, and please park on the road, left side of driveway. Walk 10 metres down driveway, Tasman hut is down a few stairs, you can’t miss it. There is normally someone home, we are here to help if need be. Otherwise just enjoy your stay and we will leave you to do just that. Relax, unwind, let Go! We have super friendly neighbours, they are harmless, fun and helpful. And generally keep to themselves we all get on well and respect each other. The odd music note travels through the valley, we all enjoy a good tune.Any loud tunes that offend please contact Vanessa we will contact our neighbors to reduce sound. Otherwise a trusting and healthy community of beach culture dwellers fill this beautiful West Coast area we call home. We recommend you drive to the beach and waterfalls, we are very near the Hillary track. The walk trail which is part of the track to the beach that starts on the road 3 mins down the hill,then on the left a Stoney driveway leads to the Tasman track, which is then about another 15 mins down hill. Which means uphill on the way back, it’s a scenic walk and worth doing.Wear good walking shoes. We have an organic compost with eco bags which are placed in the bamboo toilet, a scoop of sawdust between toilet stops to eliminate any of our. We appreciate if the finished bag after your stay is dropped into the black bin at the back of the hut, we will dispose of the waste. We plan to have a flushing toilet by early March!
