Our centrally located self catering apartment, over two floors in a lovely Victorian building. A moments walk from the beach, shopping, theatres and Carlisle Street with its fabulous choice of restaurants and eateries. The Devonshire is light, airy, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy living area, spacious relaxing bedroom with ensuite bath/shower, king size bed, sofa bed in the lounge and quiet additional working area. Parking, WIFI, Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, Microwave, SMART TV, Coffee Machine. The Devonshire really is our own lovely relaxing apartment with bucket loads of light and a feeling of space and airiness. As you walk in through the front door simply put down your luggage and breathe in the peace and quiet and the sense of calm in the newly decorated Apartment. The lounge/diner is a lovely space, tall ceilings, egg and dart plaster coving, large windows let the light flood in during the day. Dimmers for adjusting the mood lighting at night. Freshly carpeted throughout you will feel the softness under your feet. It is sumptuous and spacious with everything you need before starting off on your adventures every day. A fully fitted kitchen for those of you who prefer to cook and of course that WAKE UP coffee machine for all you coffee lovers. At the end of your day a comfy sofa for your evening relaxation in front of the wall mounted SMART TV awaits. For the younger generation there is a sofa bed to snuggle into at the other end of the lounge. There are stairs to your right as you enter the Apartment and these take you up to the fabulous spacious bedroom with en suite bathroom with an invigorating shower or deep bubble bath you choose. Controllable mood lighting, illuminated/magnifying vanity mirror for that perfect touchup of makeup. More dimmers add to the atmosphere in the bedroom and the floor to ceiling blackout curtains shut out all the chaos of the outside world. All the creature comforts of home at your fingertips. A couple of reading chairs and a separate space for you to work from home or use your laptop, make this a perfect escape space. Fitted wardrobes with wooden hangers and two THICK towelling robes await you after your revitalising shower or bath. Remote controlled candles for the romantic are also provided. The bedroom really is perfect for reading or simply sitting in one of the chairs and watching the world go by out of the window. There is SO much right on your doorstep. From walks along the promenades (Yes we have more than one) to hikes along the South Downs way. The surrounding Sussex countryside and villages offer all manners of interesting opportunities to explore, from local history to food, beer and sparkling wine tours. The Town centre is about a 5 min walk away, offering The Beacon Shopping Centre, with all the top branded stores and restaurants, a 8 screen Cinemaplex offering 2D and 3D experiences. Theatre lover? Choose from 3, The Congress, The Devonshire Park or The Royal Hippodrome - Four if you include the Victorian Winter Gardens - The first two and Winter Gardens are within a 4 minute walk! Eastbourne is a hive of activity from International Tennis Tournaments to the UK's largest free seaside airshow. The Western lawns host seasonal events throughout the year, including Magnificent Motors, 999, Eastbourne Beer Festival, Fireworks Festival and so much more. Sovereign Harbour is very close by with its many attractions including watching the fishing boats coming and going. Eastbourne at dusk is a real treat with restaurant tables all lit up outside as well as strolls along the beach with a picnic (provided upon request). Bike hire is also available on the seafront and with so many cycle paths you really will be spoilt for choice. For the action hero in you there is windsurfing, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing and of course swimming in the sea. There is absolutely everything to do whatever your age and capability. Do as much or as little as you like. The National Trust Birling Gap is within walking, cycling or driving distance and is full of history and suspense. Pop into the Visitors Centre and read about the smugglers and all the ships that have sunk right here in Eastbourne. Street parking is available right outside our Apartment. We provide the parking permits FREE OF CHARGE for the duration of your stay. If you have more than one vehicle, there is a daily charge of £1.50 for the extra vehicle. There is ample parking throughout the town with meters, taking coin, card as well as app based payment systems. There really is something for everyone. Arriving by train into Eastbourne Station? The Apartment is only a short 6 minute walk and with the station being a main line to London in under an hour and half, it really does make sense to let the train take the strain. For an exciting day trip from Eastbourne to Brighton by rail it is another very quick trip, only 39 minutes. The buses here are simply amazing and not just locally either. If the train is not your thing then for a real adventure why not take a WIFI double decker to Brighton - with breathtaking views of the South Downs and the beautiful Cuckmere Valley on route. For those of you who love to use your bike, these are very well catered for with numerous cycle routes including the infamous Cuckoo Trail al the way from Eastbourne to Heathfield. Paul and I have done this cycle path and it was absolutely stunning just cycling past, through and under old disused railway tracks, bridges and tunnels. Really great fun and you see so much more being on two wheels. We took a picnic and stopped at one of the many many picnic benches that are provided on route and just munched away and watched the world go by. If you prefer to hire a bike that is so easy as well. These are down on the seafront and also dotted around Eastbourne all very simple to use and then bring back after use. The good old taxi is also a constant here in Eastbourne with lots all around the centre and again details of all these are in our Welcome Book. Paul and I are keen walkers and hikers so we tend to use our legs for getting around and believe me the views and sights we have seen over the years STILL take our breath away and we always see something new and different every single time we put on our walking boots. We also have a fully working harbour where charters are available for sailing, diving, fishing, lighthouse tours and exhilarating rib rides. So you can see from the exhaustive list above there really is something for everyone, whatever your age and whatever your ability.
