Between the forest and vineyards of Sauternes in the Southern Gironde, a large private room, opening onto the enclosed garden of an original, local stone property, on the edge of the forest. 2 kms from the famous vineyards; Sauternes (sweet white) (Yquem, Guiraud, Filhot, Ste Croix du Mont), Graves ( red ). 10 minutes from the Autoroute ( Langon Exit ), Nearby:- Landes de Gascogne and Medieval Castles, (Uzeste, Bazas, Cazeneuve, Verdelais) bike trails to the ocean (120 kms), 45 minutes drive to the center of Bordeaux, 1 hour from St Emilion, Pyla Sand Dune and Arcachon. Simple forest walks from the back door ... all to be consumed without moderation! Independent access to the room is through a private enclosed garden for the Guests exclusive use, providing a mixture of sunny and shaded areas to enjoy the tranquility of this special area and the song of the many forest birds (as appreciated by some ornithologists guests). The hostess is a Ceramist who works in her studio on site and will be available to provide all information necessary for the smooth running of the visit, while respecting the privacy and the independence of the Guests. In summer, the stone farmhouse remains cool. It is situated on the edge of a forest of hardwoods and pines. The forest, paths invites you to explore. In the fall, It is not uncommon to catch young deer in the gardens as the property is not fenced. Located 1.5 km from the town of Léogeats, a place called The Citadel already existed in the XV th century as indicated by the first maps of the Gironde and was probably an English outpost. There is no public transport nearby, train station and motorway to Bordeaux and Toulouse are within 12 kilometers from the Citadel. For one or two nignts stay breakfast is provided ( served in the room or in the garden )- For a stay of three days or more, instead of breakfast, access to the adjoining private kitchen is included, enabling the Guests to be self catering for all meals.
