Wanderfalk Lodge - Luxury Alpine Chalet with Sauna

Our luxury alpine chalet, the Wanderfalk Lodge, in the beautiful Hochkönig valley is the perfect year round alpine escape with family and friends! Great for skiing (Ski Amadé), hiking, climbing, mountain biking, golfing or just enjoying nature and the comforts of the chalet. The chalet has been spaciously designed (260m2 over 3 floors) and provides you with all the luxuries of modern day life. From it's many windows and balconies you can enjoy great views on the mountains and plenty of sunlight. LIVING | FIRST FLOOR The living space covers the entire first floor of the chalet! This floor consists of a spacious modern kitchen, a dining area with a 4 meter long dining table, a lounge with fireplace and an entertainment area with a large Smart TV and Home Theatre system, Playstation and board games. Everything you need for a great time with family and friends. On sunny days, of which there are many in Hochkönig, you can relax on our large outdoor terrace next to the living room. WELLNESS After a day full of outdoor activity you can soak and dream away in the large Bathtub with views over the whole valley or rejuvenate yourself by relaxing in the spacious Finnish Sauna. SLEEPING | GROUND FLOOR & TOP FLOOR There are 6 spacious bedrooms in the chalet. The top floor is the main sleeping area of the chalet. This floor consists of 4 bedrooms of which 2 bedrooms have additional attic rooms. These attics rooms are easily accessible with comfortable stairs, but have limited standing height. The other 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor. STORAGE, SKI ROOM & LAUNDRY ROOM | GROUND FLOOR On the ground floor you will find a large hallway, utility area with a washing machine and dryer and separate ski & storage room. WHAT'S INCLUDED: - Hochkönig card that gives you free access to summer mountain lifts, swimming pools, tennis courts, hiking bus and musea in the Hochkönig region. For more information please visit the Hochkönig tourism website. - Towels (2 per person on the booking; please be aware we don’t provide sauna towels, bathrobes and bathmats) - Bedlinen (1 set per person on the booking) - Kitchen towels - Utilities, Wifi, Sauna and all the facilities in the chalet - Free use of firewood and gas for the outdoor Grill - For your convenience we provide you with a first set of Toilet paper, Garbage bags, Dishwasher tabs, Dishwashing liquid and Rituals Shampoo and Soap in the bathrooms. Please be aware this is a self-service chalet and you are responsible for any further stocks you require during your stay. WHAT'S EXCLUDED: - Tourist tax for everyone of 15 years and older (€ 2.10 per person per night). This will be collected by our property manager when you check in. PLEASE NOTE - Our chalet is in a very quiet village and after 22:00 it is not allowed to cause hindrance and noise outside. So we ask our guests to please move inside at 21:45. - For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home is not suitable for groups of young people CHALET MANAGER The chalet manager lives close by and her number will be provided to you by email after your reservation is confirmed. She will check you in and check you out. We are also reachable by phone. GETTING AROUND Four cars can easily park onsite, in front of the chalet. The closest railway station is a 15 minutes drive from the chalet in Bischofshofen. Salzburg airport is the closest airport and is a 45 minutes drive from the chalet. Other nearby airports are Munich, Innsbruck and Linz. All just over 2 hours drive from the chalet. During the season the ski and hiking bus stop is a 5 minutes walk from the chalet. At the lift there are lockers to keep your shoes and belongings. There is a large car park near the lift if you choose to drive down. THE VILLAGE Wanderfalk Lodge is located in the mountain village Mühlbach am Hochkönig, the centre is just a 10 minute walk or 2 minutes drive from the chalet. The village has a Spar Supermarket (07:30-12:30 and 2:30 till 18:00, Saturdays till 12:00, Sundays closed), a bakery (opens 07:00), a few local restaurants, a 24/7 ATM and a tourism office. In winter you can rent Skis and arrange for skiing lessons in the village and at the ski lift, during the summer months you can rent mountain bikes and e-bikes. There are cosy Alm huts on the mountain slopes, opened during summer and winter. In Bischofshofen (20 min drive from the chalet) you will find a wide range of supermarkets and restaurants. WINTER ACTIVITIES Our chalet is located in the Hochkönig ski area, named after the majestic 3000m high Hochkönig massif. It has 120 km of slopes for skiers of all levels, first-class snow and fun parks and of course various cosy ski huts to take a break. Hochkönig area also offers the Königstour, one of the most impressive ski tours in the Alps.  The snow record is impressive, the area is locally known as the “snow hole” as the Hochkönig mountain attracts a high level of snowfall. The closest ski lift, Karbachalmbahn is a 5 minutes drive from the chalet or a 5 minute walk to the busstop of the ski bus (that will take you to the lift). There is plenty of parking space near the ski lift and safety lockers, if you would like to store your ski's there. Close to the chalet there is also a smaller ski area, called Hochkeil (10 minutes drive from the chalet or 20 minutes by ski bus). This area is great for kids and beginners. Hochkönig ski region is also centrally located in Ski Amadé, the second largest ski area of Europe. It offers 760 km of ski slopes within it’s 5 areas : Hochkönig, Gasteinertal, Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein and Grossarltal. 90% Of the slopes in Ski Amadé have snow making capabilities. You can enjoy all the ski areas with just one ski pass. SUMMER ACTIVITIES In Summer Hochkönig turns into a paradise for nature lovers with numerous activities to do and plenty of sights to see. From hiking and biking through picturesque mountain landscapes or golfing surrounded by alpine meadows, from road tripping through surreal alpine routes to spending a day with your kids at the alpine playgrounds or the many swimming pools and lakes in the surroundings. For some adrenaline there is rock climbing, mountain biking, paragliding and white water rafting. Everybody will find activities that suit their perfect holiday break. You can access the summer lifts, hiking bus, swimming pools and musea in the Hochkönig region for free with the Hochkönig Card that is provided with your stay.
