Stunning Cape Town Heritage Beach House

La Rochelle is a gorgeous beachside national monument, built in 1902 as a holiday home. Stunning views of False Bay from the upper terrace & stoep: perfect for whale watching & to check if the surf is up. It's also a short stroll down the road to amazing funky cafes & restaurants of Kalk Bay if you don't want to cook in the huge eat-in kitchen, or have a Braai in the courtyard. There are two large sitting rooms, both with log fires, as well as the five double & triple size bedrooms. This is your home throughout your stay. It will sleep 12 people comfortably. You can arrange for one or 2 more children to sleep on cots or futons (or even the sofas!) if you want The whole house with five bedrooms, a study/lounge, a large open plan kitchen / dining room, a large TV lounge with wonderful mountain views, three bathrooms, the upstairs veranda and the downstairs front veranda and garden, and the back courtyard with braai area. All of the house is available to guests. Catherine, our fabulous Air BnB host, will welcome you and also manage check out. She is available to assist during your stay. David, lives at the back of the property and can assist with any emergency needs St James offers a beautiful coast line with both a tidal pool and a beach - Danger Beach - which is favored by locals as it offers protection from the prevailing South Easter wind, and is safe as long as you are careful about the rip tide. Nice snorkeling amongst the sea weed with an abundant sea life and tidal zone. St James is very close to both Kalk Bay and Muizenberg with the buzz that both these coastal villages have to offer - each direction 10 to 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car. There is a secure garage where you can park your car - on street parking (visible from the house) is available next to the beach and in the side street It is a short walk to wonderful Kalk Bay and Muizenberg And it is just 2 minutes walk to St James train station if you fancy a trip down the coast or up to the Cape Town city centre
