Whether you are staying in with the open fire or exploring the countryside there is something at Bere Cottage for all breaks. The Space: Bere Cottage is a 2 bed home. On the ground floor the front door leads to the kitchen and then to a small hallway. From the hallway you can pass to the bathroom or the living room with open fireplace. From the living room stairs in the corner lead to the first floor. Here you will find the master bedroom and spiral stairs to the second floor where the twin bedroom is located. Guest Access: You will have access to the entire property for the duration of your stay once checked-in and there is parking for up to 2 cars on the driveway, please note, it's a tight turn to get on the road of you have a larger car. This is a 400 year old property and as such please be aware that the staircases may be considered steep with shallow steps, also that there are low beams in some areas. The Neighborhood: Westbere is a picturesque village in Kent, England, around 4 miles north-east of Canterbury city centre and close to local attractions, beaches and country walks. The local pub just 50m away, the 14th Century Old Yew Tree, is the perfect place to have a meal or an evening drink whilst enjoying the calm atmosphere. With the pubs links to royalty, highwayman Dick Turpin as well as being one of the oldest pubs in the country there is a lot to take in. Getting Around: Westbere is very close to Canterbury, so if you do not have car, you can take a leisurely walk along one of the many trails on the River Stour or use the public buses to navigate your way around the area. The property is just c.1.5 miles from Sturry Train Station with regular services to Margate, Broadstairs and Canterbury. Westbere is close to al local attractions. It is 10 minutes’ drive from the historic cathedral city of Canterbury with Howlett’s Zoo, Whitstable and Herne Bay around 15 minutes, Broadstairs and Ramsgate are 25 minutes. Famous golf club at Sandwich, 15 miles. Channel Tunnel and Dover for day trips to France only ½ an hour’s drive. Shop 1 mile, pub 50 meters.
