This one bedroom cottage is self contained and has a living room which combines kitchen, dining and lounge areas. There is one bedroom which contains a double bed and a small hanging space. The bathroom is modern and bright with shower and toilet. Open access to garden and water views. The cottage is the original fisherman's cottage which has been completely renovated to meet the needs of the modern traveller. One bedroom, one bathroom and one open plan living room with dining and kitchen space. It has a television and a DVD player, and a reverse cycle air conditioner to ensure your comfort. Our lakeside cottage is positioned in the rear garden/ back yard of our property. The cottage is a fully renovated original fisherman’s cottage dating back from the early twentieth century. You will have complete access to all areas of the cottage and the back garden including a barbecue area with table and chairs, clothesline and back patio of the main house. You may even wish to enjoy a refreshing beverage whilst enjoying the garden from a couple of lounge chairs under the frangipani tree. As you arrive at the address, please drive your vehicle up the driveway and park to the right on the concrete pad in front of the main house. You will have space to park your vehicle on the off road concrete pad for your entire stay. The cottage is located in the rear garden of the property and is accessed by a rising pathway and due to this we advise that our property is not suitable for those who have mobility restrictions, or who require a wheelchair or walking frame. We are now enjoying our golden years and the pleasures of retirement. We enjoy meeting new people and welcome the opportunity to ensure our guests have a relaxing holiday in our cottage in a peaceful garden setting. We are happy to share information on local activities and events and tourist attractions. We will also supply you with provisions for you to prepare your own breakfast! Wangi Wangi is a delightful suburb on the shores of Lake Macquarie. The Wangi Wangi peninsular stretches out into the lake and is inhabited on both northern and southern sides. The local community is very friendly and welcoming. Our property is adjacent to natural reserves and this ensures that bird life is ever present. Our house which has extensive water views is elevated from the road and the cottage is behind. You will also be able to enjoy some water views from the cottage and garden. If you enjoy dining out , then you have several choices. We recommend our little village restaurant called "Vita" which serves handmade pasta, pizza and delicious French style pastries. We also recommend our local Wangi Pizza Bar which creates delicious and inexpensive pizza. If you would prefer Asian food, there are several clubs which serve Chinese food and a Thai restaurant in Wangi. We also recommend a short drive to Morriset where you may try a restaurant called The Olde Bakehouse. Here the food is also strongly influenced by Italy and they serve some interesting craft beers and imported wines as well as a selection of local wines. Wangi Wangi has a very small shopping centre which meets your basic needs. Wangi Wangi is just 10 minutes drive to Toronto, a local town shopping centre or just 25 minutes drive to larger centres such as Glendale, Charlestown Square or 35 minutes drive to Westfield Kotara. There is the Newcastle Lake Macquarie bus service which runs directly past the property. Wangi Wangi is just 10 minutes from a train station at the township of Morriset. This train system will connect you to Sydney and Newcastle or beyond. Wangi Wangi is popular for sailing, fishing, bushwalking, birdwatching and art lovers. It is also popular for photography and bike riding. You may like to visit during the summer months while the sailing season is on or you may like to visit at any time of the year to take advantage of the abundance of fishing spots and nature walks or opportunities to take that brilliant photo or create an inspired art piece. There are bushwalking trails for the more experienced hiker and there are also some easy foreshore walks as Wangi Wangi has a waterfront reserve around the peninsular. The area is one of natural beauty and if you are an artist you will be immediately inspired by the surrounds.
