There are two notable parks in the area: the urban Campo Grande park and José Gomes Ferreira park, known by locals as Mata de Alvalade. Alvalade is known as a safe and calm neighbourhood, serviced by a police station in the area, and it is an attractive option for families with children too. Alvalade suits joggers’ and cyclists’ needs too: the Campo Grande park is great for both, and has pleasant cafés if you need to stop for a refreshment.
