Overlooking the breathtaking fells & situated in a small Hamlet between two towns, Marni's Cottage offers a calm space perfectly positioned for stunning walks immediately out through the front door or to be used as a base to deeper explore the Lake District, an area of outstanding beauty. To the rear of the cottage is the iconic 140 mile C2C cycle path, which can be walked & leads into the coastal town of Whitehaven. Ennerdale with its beautiful remote & deep glacial lake, is only 5 miles away. The cottage has been newly renovated with a bright contemporary design to offer a peaceful & relaxing holiday abode with a private garden and patio area. The two bedroom cottage has an open plan living & dining room, leading to a large hallway and a downstairs shower room. A further room on the lower floor has a double sofa bed & can be used as a third bedroom or as an additional quiet room. The kitchen to the rear opens out to the enclosed garden & patio area, which is dog friendly. A staircase takes you up to two bedrooms (please note the staircase has a hand rail on the left side and no bannister/balustrade to the right) one double & one with two single beds & a newly refurbed family bathroom, featuring a bath & shower over. The main bedroom offers uninterrupted views across the Fells, a fabulous start to any day! There is parking available directly outside the cottage. There is a bus stop opposite. There is also a rear garden entrance for those with bikes. Marni's Cottage is set in a rural location, which has easy access to the Western Lake District & Cumbrian Coastline. Set in a quiet row of terraced cottages, there are open fell views to the front & behind is the C2C cycle path, which leads into Whitehaven. A family & dog friendly cottage, there is plenty for all of the family to do. A short drive away is Ennerdale, which has the Ennerdale round, kayaking on the Lake & various Wainwrights, that are family friendly or slightly more challenging. Here you will also find the Wild Wool Barn, which offers Craft workshops. A 5 mile drive into Whitehaven offers a variety of shops, bars & restaurants, there is also a golf course. St Bees, which is only a 6 mile drive to the Head Heritage Coast with coastal walks and sandy beaches, also has a golf course - this is the start of the Coast to Coast walk.. A bit further on is a span of open coastline with vast sandy beaches from Seascale to Drigg. A short distance from here is Ravenglass which is home to the La'al Ratty miniature railway between Ravenglass and Dalegarth. There is fishing at Longlands which is just over a mile drive away, day fishing permits are needed and can be purchased from Farrens shop in Cleator, Udales Newsagents in Cleator Moor and Wathbrow Post Office. A bit further takes you to Wastwater and Wasdale, from where you can climb England's highest mountain - Scafell Pike. There is parking directly outside the cottage, there is also a rear entrance for those with bikes. There is a bus stop opposite, the cottage is set off a main road so traveling is easy & accessible. The cottage is dog friendly with a secure enclosed garden, dog towels in the porch and dog bowls in the kitchen. A high chair and travel cot are available on request. Guests are required to remove shoes and wet coats in the porch area where there are drip trays and coat hooks. There is a wellie rack in the garden. If guests could make sure they clear up after their pets it would be greatly appreciated.
