Central apartment close to Museum of Arts

A cozy, two room apartment on a raised first floor, perfect for families with baby strollers. The apartment is located in a historical 1930's era building, with many of the original historic design elements restored and being maintained. The neighborhood is one of the most central in Riga, and all the main cultural sights are within easy walking distance. There are several grocery stores within the immediate area, as well as diverse offering of restaurants & a shopping center. The apartment has two interconnected rooms. The bedroom has a double bed, with cotton sateen bedding, stylized champagne box nightstands, and a clothes rack with hangers. The living room has a sofa and lounge chair set with a coffee table, a large, sliding door wardrobe, as well as a small bureau with different tourism materials and maps. The kitchen has a bunch of appliances - a microwave, an electric filter coffee maker, toaster , a four hob gas stove and a refrigerator. The bathroom has a washing machine, shower cabin, toilet and a sink with mirror. All touristic areas are withing easy walking distance and there are several parks very close-by. Old Riga (the medieval part of the city) - 10 minutes The Monument of Freedom - 8 minutes The Esplanade park - 2 minutes The Vērmanes Garden park - 5 minutes The Bastion Hill park - 8 minutes The National Museum of Arts - 5 minutes The National Museum of History - 5 minutes The Museum of War - 10 minutes The "Jews in Latvia" museum - 3 minutes. The Latvian National Opera building - 8 minutes The Latvian National Theater - 14 minutes Shopping, food and drink - the immediate area is also teeming with different bars and restaurants, and there is a 6 story shopping center called "Galleria Riga", with a grocery store, different restaurants and all sorts of stores, within a 3 minute walking distance. Parking - there are several paid parking lots nearby, maintained by Europarks, as well as paid street parking (free from Sat. 17:00 till Mon. 08:00). The apartment building sports the ONLY bagel place in Riga, if not in all of Latvia (might even be the whole of the Baltics)! The neighborhood is the very center of Riga with Old Riga to the west, the embassy filled "quiet center" to the north, the artistic neighborhood to the east and the market, rail station to the south. A 6 story shopping mall is on the next block over and has a roof terrace for its restaurants. There are numerous other restaurants nearby - Latvian, Italian, French, Armenian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Tex-Mex and German cuisines are all within easy reach. For the bibliophiles, a bohemian book store/cafe called Roberts Books is a block away and has a large selection of books in English as well as coffee and interesting conversation partners. The 26 story Radisson Hotel Latvia is right next door and sports the panoramic Skyline bar on the top floor so you can sip a cocktail while watching over the city. For nature-minded guest and for those with kids, there are 3 large parks nearby and all of them have playgrounds and ice-cream carts for the children, as well as large benches for the adults. :) The central rail station is 15-20 minutes away by foot. Next to it is the main intercity bus terminal. The airport can be reached via Bus 22, which stops near the rail station or more conveniently with Minibus 241 which stops in front of the building. You can also switch from Bus 22 at a half-way point and get on bus 3 or 21 which takes you within a block of the apartment building. Note: Minibus 241 does take a very roundabout route to the center and the trip might take up to an hour.
