A wonderful historic house within a private 2000 acre estate. Ideal for special celebrations, multi-generational family gatherings as well as corporate meetings, there are 10 bedrooms/bathrooms available for up to 20 guests. The Garden House may also be available for larger parties providing a further 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms. The price listed is for rental and a bespoke fully inclusive service fee is supplementary. Carnell is very much a family home and very comfortable. A wonderful family home furnished over many years by each generation. The house is warm year-round due to the efficiency of the biomass boiler serving both the Big House and the Garden House. This also serves the hot-water system ensuring everyone gets a hot bath when needed. This is not one of those Scottish piles where you go to bed wearing your thermals! It's also cool in summer with its thick walls and huge windows. Carnell is a fully staffed house. We have a choice of two excellent Chefs and friendly house ladies and grounds staff who look after you and your guests. As a guide, the daily 24 hours inclusive service fee is from £125 plus VAT per adult per night based on a minimum of 16 guests and includes food and drinks as well as service. This is a bespoke service depending on numbers, children, diet, etc., so do get in touch if you need more information. Your stay will feel like you're part of a traditional house party. You'll come down to the log-fired hall, fresh coffee and newspapers. Breakfast is usually served from 9am to 10am unless your party has plans for the day. During the summer months, guests enjoy playing tennis, fishing on the pond or taking a horse ride around the Estate. There are many top golf courses within a short drive. Glasgow and its galleries and shopping is about 30 minutes drive. Edinburgh is 75 minutes and Loch Lomond the same. Within the house, you can enjoy relaxing in the spacious reception rooms which look out over well-tended gardens. There is chess, backgammon and bridge as well as other board games. The Billiards Room also houses an excellent whisky collection (this can be removed if not required). We have our own area of the house and are here to help organise your stay and make sure you go home with fantastic memories. Some parts of the house will not be accessible including a staff flat and also staff offices to the rear of the house. As you can imagine, running the house for larger parties does take some organising. Prior to arrival, we like to agree a plan with you so things like menus and wines as well as activities are all agreed. We can help with coordinating with 3rd parties for things like music, transfers, golf etc. The house is set is a wonderfully rural location, a few miles from Kilmarnock, Troon & Ayr yet only 35 mins from Glasgow Airport. Perfect for golfing parties wishing to play the west coast courses including Prestwick, Troon, Dundonald, Western Gailles, Turnberry, etc. The area is famed because of its links to Robert Burns and there are a number of interesting museums and visitor attractions with links. There is a train station at Kilmarnock. Prestwick airport is a 15 minute drive and is available for private air. Helicopters can land on the Estate. Glasgow International Airport is 35 mins drive. This is a traditional Estate with two working dairy farms as well as a driven shoot from 1st October to 31 January.
