Nelson's Barn is a beautiful conversion of old stabling and a barn on the site of The Old Rectory where Admiral Lord Nelson was born. There is a plaque on the wall outside recording this historical fact. The accommodation is really spacious and bright, with bedrooms on both floors - ideal for special multi-generational family gatherings. There's a nursery room adjoining the master bedroom, with cot and single bed. With a Nest heating system to keep you cosy on cooler days, it's a year round destination. Full length double aspect window with views over meadows, river and gardens give it a real wow factor - where the River Burn meanders towards Burnham Overy. This is a really peaceful spot with lots of wildlife around, including barn owls and marsh harriers. In the winter it's a fabulous way to watch the skeins of geese fly over from the wall to ceiling windows, with the wood burning stove roaring and a teapot on the go! The kitchen and dining area are modern and well-equipped for larger groups, and there's a barbecue on the patio area for warmer nights when you fancy dining alfresco. All this, and you're only a couple of miles from the lively bustle of Burnham Market and Burnham Overy Staithe, so everything is on your doorstep and you get the best of both worlds.
