Rivendell
Private guest space in owner’s lovely Breton cottage. Tranquil rural setting 5 mins drive to the picturesque town of Jugon les Lacs and 20 mins to Medieval Dinan. Only 25/30 mins drive to the beaches of the magnificent Emerald coast . 45 mins from St. Malo and approx 2-2.5 hours from the ports of Caen,Cherbourg and Roscoff. A 50 min drive to the capital Rennes and Mont St. Michel can be visited easily. I offer a friendly and comfortable environment - I like people to feel ‘at home’. Guests have their own private entrance, bedroom and bathroom as well as private use of a small kitchenette/ utility room which contains enough equipment for simple cooking i.e. a microwave with grill function , plug in twin electric hob ,electric slow cooker, kettle, small coffee machine and also a cafetière,toaster and fridge (with small freezer compartment ). Crockery ,glassware, pans, cutlery etc are also provided as is a bistro table and chairs (there is also a dishwasher ,washing machine and dryer which can be used at a small extra charge **) A juicing machine and food processor are available upon request. Since the emergence of Covid 19 the owner’s space is separated by a small passageway, curtain (and a dog barrier) so that no spaces are physically shared during their stay ( I do not use my dishwasher or washing machine etc when visitors are here ) Lots of garden space/ places to sit and relax. Free WiFi provided. TV monitor/DVD player with HDMI cable to attach a laptop computer etc can be provided in the guest room -if requested in advance ** Dependant on current safety issues regarding Covid 19....The owner could offer English lessons to guests if required (TEFL qualified) and also help English speakers learn some French during their stay. The owner is willing to give guests tips on where to go to such things as local beaches ,historical sites ,vide greniers, markets, local walks etc... Lots of walks and cycle rides as well as golf nearby - swimming pool with reasonably priced sauna’ steam room and jacuzzi a short drive away. Good local restaurants, shops, banks etc.. The coast is less than half an hours drive and there‘s a lot of incredible local history to discover. A car is definitely needed to ‘get around’ but use a bicycle or your feet to explore the beautiful nearby countryside There are bicycles guests can use ( advance notice is required ) to explore the local area ( but if ‘serious cycling/ long distances are planned I would suggest bringing your own or hiring locally in Jugon Les Lacs)
