Stylishly Renovated Listed Townhouse

Sutton House hadn't been a family home for almost 50 but it's now fully restored as a holiday cottage. It's listed Grade II with parts dating back to 1650. There's loads of character alongside contemporary fixtures and fittings. At one end you'll find low ceilings, a large fireplace with wood burner and blue lias flagstones. At the other, the Georgian 'updated' front, with sash windows and shutters. The kitchen and bathroom are new, with high-quality fixtures throughout. People are always surprised when they enter the building, by how big it is. It looks like a little cottage but has many different rooms stretching back from the entrance hall. The last family - the Suttons - lived in it back in the 60s. Since then, it's largely been abandoned until our complete renovation. We've been as green as we can - we've used no cement only lime, paints have all been minimal VOCs (such as Earthborn) or limewash and there's very little PVC in the building. With the exception of a couple of rugs and the stair runner, all the floors are hard materials, which is thought to help asthma sufferers. The room at the back still needs some work. For now, it's part of the garden, but we're open to ideas for what we could do with it! This is an old, listed property so does not have the safety features for children you may be used to in a modern house. Please ask if you have any questions.
