Located in the Department of the Aude, this area of southern France is rich in history and bathed in straightforward and welcoming authenticity. The house has three clean, spacious and charming bedrooms, a full kitchen, 2.5 baths, and a pleasant terrace. This simple but very comfortable home comes well equipped with DSL, maps, brochures, and views of the wine country. Boutenac is .5 hour to good beaches; 2.5 hours to Barcelona; .5 hour to the great cities of Carcassonne and Narbonne; and minutes to villages of exquisite beauty, historical interest, and excellent vineyards. The house is in the center of the village, a few steps to the shop where one can purchase all the basics. This quietly bustling village is friendly and inviting. Lavender Room - King Bed Blue Room - Double Bed Yellow Room - 1 king (and Single in alcove) A 4th bedroom can be made available with a bit of preparation, it has two singles, bringing the total sleeping spaces up to 9 people. Wireless DSL throughout. Washer/Dryer. Books, games and puzzles, maps and guides. This is a village townhouse, so we have stairs. Very young children could be at risk. Please consider this if you are traveling with little ones or guests with disabilities. Very limited public transportation from the village itself. Nearest rail station is in Lezignan. My husband, Tom, and I will do what we can to make your stay a pleasant one. ***Parking has been marked as included because you can normally find parking just around the corner in the church square, but it is not part of our property. Parking is free on the street and the community parking spaces. Linens and towels provided. Shampoo, soaps and hair dryer available. We are available to help answer any questions our guests have and give suggestions when we're asked. We generally are found to be helpful without being overbearing. If our guests need something, we're here. There are tennis courts, petanque court, children's playground, basket ball court, and a well equipped Mediateque/library. The well stocked Vival shop has all the basics one needs and larger grocery and bakeries can be found just 10 minutes away in Lezignan. There is a lively Wednesday morning open market in Lezignan. A car is necessary to make the day trips. Public transportation is extremely limited.
