Le Monticule: Heaven at your feet

The cottage is a detached, authentic cottage with its own entrance and private terrace and fantastic views over the Creuse landscape. The terrace is high with undisturbed views of the sunset and spectacular cloud skies. Very quietly situated at the end of a dead end road. Lovely place for a week to recover from everyday crowds, a weekend of cocooning or a comfortable stay while looking for your own home in France. Friendly dogs are more than welcome! In the cottage are old details such as thick beams and an old bread oven still visible but the cottage is otherwise modern and comfortably furnished with a full kitchen, including 4 burner stove, refrigerator and microwave. The bedroom with a box spring of 1.80x2.00m and the silent surroundings make a long night's sleep easy. The living room has a comfortable 2-person sofa bed (2.00x1.45m). The bathroom with toilet and electric towel dryer is on the 1st floor and accessible from the bedroom. The house is heated by electric radiators. The gite is located next to the owners' house. There is almost always someone present to help or answer questions. We like to cook so we provide breakfast or evening table d'hote on request. Just ask us for the possibilities. From the cottage and in the immediate vicinity are beautiful walks to make, also great for a dog walk. In Chambon-sur-Voueize, 5 km away is a cozy bistro, a supermarket and 2 bakeries. The Creuse is not yet flooded by tourism and is therefore still very pure. The area is rural, with fields, hedges, old trees and Limousin or Charolais cows. In the immediate vicinity are lakes (some nature reserve and others just for swimming) to visit and castles. There are lovely villages with almost all their own market day. The mountains of the Auvergne (Puy-de-Dome) are 90 minutes away. The gite is located in a tiny hamlet of 6 houses (including the gite) at the end of a dead end road that only the neighbour farmer occasionally uses. There is no public transport so a car is needed. There is a parking space at the gite. Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand (with airports) are both about 90 minutes from the cottage. Dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Because our own dog is also walking on the terrain, it is nice when the dog is social. The terrain is not fully fenced but there are fenced playgrounds. From the house you can make nice dog walks for example to the river. Our garden is also meant to be used by our guest. So enjoy it !
