Located on the first floor of a four-storey building, the apartment is ideally located to explore the city of San Sebastián - Donostia and the many attractions it offers. A property in which to feel part of the life of the city. Built in the 1960s, in a highly sought-after area in the lower part of San Sebastián, very well connected by public transport to the center. The apartment is very quiet, simple to operate, and has all the comforts (TV, washing machine, microwave, WiFi). The decoration is clean and neutral. The front door leads to a kitchenette, with a dining table for 4, a living room with a sofa bed (140 cm x 200 cm) and a TV, and a south-facing balcony, guaranteeing light throughout the day. The room has two comfortable 90 cm x 200 cm beds and a built-in wardrobe. One of the beds in the room is a trundle bed, so that if necessary 3 single beds can be placed in the room. The bathroom has good proportions and a comfortable shower. We have a baby cot. We are doing everything possible to offer a safe space to our guests. Following the recommendations of the tourist and health authorities, before you arrive we will have thoroughly cleaned the sofa, bedding, towels and cloths; and disinfected the surfaces with the highest contact, such as switches, taps, knobs and remote controls. Guests have access to the entire house. Everything is included, all you have to do is have fun: kitchen utensils, WiFi, bedding, towels, a welcome food pack, and final cleaning. Pepi, is the housekeeper, she lives locally, will welcome you and hand out the keys. And although I live in London, I am also at available at all times by email or mobile. This part of town is full of life, with local residents, friendly people with whom it is easy to strike up a conversation. This is the real Basque Country, not an area reserved for tourists. The flat is just minutes from a grocery store, as well as quality bars and restaurants. The closest beach (Ondarreta) is just 5 minutes by bus or bike (there is a bike path from the apartment to the center), or a 15-minute walk. There are many bus lines that take you to the Town Center in a few minutes, and even one of them (line 5) has the stop back home right just a few meters from our our building! Hire bicycles from the Town Hall service is a great way of getting around. There are docking stations around town with normal and electric bicycles. Your nearest docking station (number 43) is in Avenida Tolosa, just opposite the apartment building. Having a car is not essential, but it is recommended for those who want to explore the nearby towns. There are several parking options around the area: A) free parking with no time limit on the nearby Bernando Estornes L street (see Airbnb guide), which is located across the Avenida de Tolosa from our apartment. B) hourly regulated street parking, free from Friday at 8pm to Monday at 9am. C) paid underground parking next to the house, Parking Ondarreta. Once in Donostia it is advisable to use the car as little as possible, the best way to get around is on foot, by bus or by bike (see Airbnb guide for rental services). Taxi is another option and is not too expensive, specially if shared. Taxis stop only at authorised stops. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON PUBLIC WORKS Although clients are not reporting major inconveniences, it is important to note that there are public works in front of the building. Its is a service tunnel, part of the construction of the new San Sebastian metro. The working hours are long- Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 21:00 - and can produce noise from trucks entering the site.
