Cantre Selyf is a large 17th century townhouse in the centre of the old market town of Brecon. The house has been extensively renovated in a style which suits the age of the property, stylish yet comfy. It is in a quiet location off the main street in the town and has a very large walled garden which our guests are welcome to share. Guest accommodation is in a wing of the house which is completely self contained. Very conveniently located close to all amenities in the town centre. Several cafes serve breakfast within a few minutes walk of the house and there is a wide selection of pubs and restaurants close by. Excellent local Brewery Tap just across the road that offers "pie and a pint "with local craft beers and scrummy home made pies . There are some lovely gourmet pubs and restaurants a short drive or taxi ride away.,often advisable to book in advance.Takeaways to suit all tastes some of whom deliver. All information in guest file. Tourist information centre short walk away. In fact everything is a short walk away! All rooms are spacious and the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with showers. . There is now a fully equipped kitchen with all cooking facilities including microwave. The accommodation has two ensuite bedrooms, a dining room/ kitchen and a sitting room, all self contained with private entrance and keys. Guests are welcome to use the garden and summer house for that welcome sundowner at the end of a busy day exploring this lovely area. Helen will be available most of the time for local and general information. Only too ready to help, we have eighteen years experience of running a B and B so have a good idea what guests require. Brecon is a typical Welsh market town with a cinema theatre and leisure centre. We have a country market on a Tuesday and Friday where you can buy local cheeses and goodies. Twice a month we have a Farmers Market on the weekend. We are not far from the famous book town of Hay on Wye with its famous literary festival and a jazz festival here in Brecon during the month of August. Lots of nice walks from the house and the Beacons are just a short drive away. We have our own secure off road parking and the bus station is a short walk away .There is a taxi rank just around the corner. The nearest train station is Abergavenny. So much to do so little time. This area has it all , walking climbing mountain biking and for those a little less active there are galleries shops and museums. Explore this part of Wales on quiet roads, go to the coast or Cardiff and just........ Relax!
