Gîte "Les Chênes"

"The Chênes" is a gîte nested at the edge of the forest on "La Ferme des Filles". The farm covers 8 hectares of land typical to the Landes region. It is a beautiful spot, decorated with pine and oak trees, and bordered by a small river. The well-insulated gîte, made from Landes pine, is fully equipped. With games for children, magnificent landscapes for walking and a whole forest to discover, parents can enjoy complete peace of mind. We are four agriculturists, and we would be delighted to spend some time with you to show you the workings of our farm. It is a very big site, with four other gîtes hidden in the woods, ideal for groups looking to rent several buildings. Each gîte, secluded by trees and completely private, has its own patio and barbecue. In winter, you’ll certainly appreciate the log stoves! Whole apartment The farm demands a great deal of work, but we love taking the time to chat to our guests and show them around the site. Our delicious organic produce is available to buy on-site. Captieux is a village which offers all essential amenities. Further afield, 15km away, is Bazas, a small town well worthy of a visit. Le Ciron is the local river, where can be found a nautical club offering relaxing canoe trips through the idyllic landscape. Several lakes are also situated nearby and offer summer activities. The forest walks are magical, and a visit to the châteaux du Sauternais is unmissable. A number of local equestrian centres offer horse riding activities. The nearest coastline is roughly one and a quarter hours away by car and the beautiful city of Bordeaux at one hour driving. There is a regional bus service which will take you from the nearest railway station, Langon. If you have bicycles, there are many cycle paths. ACCESS : If coming by car on the motorway, take Exit 2 Captieux then, at the centre of Captieux, turn right towards Bazas. After 400m, take the lane on the left and follow signs for “La Ferme des Filles”. If coming on the A-road from Bazas, take the first lane on the right after the welcome sign for Captieux, then follow the signs for “La Ferme des Filles”. Upon arriving on the site, parking is on the right. To check in, head for the farmhouse on the left. There is no TV or WiFi, but we receive excellent 4G signal. We ask all guests to park their cars at the entrance to the farm and walk the last few metres to their gîte. In terms of bedding, we ask that you bring your own sheets and towels, as we are operating on an eco-responsible basis. If you bring your bedsheets: 1 sheet, 1 or 2 pillowcases and a duvet cover (single or double depending on the bedsize). The gîte is equipped with all necessary appliances for breakfast (filter coffee machine, toaster, boiler, microwave). In the event that you opt to use our sheets and towels, and enjoy a simple but tasty breakfast prepared by us, the fees are as follows: Sheets: 10 euros per bed Towels: 5 euros per person Breakfast: 5 euros per person Regarding the cleaning, we charge only 15 euros, but this means that you leave the house clean: empty the trash in the recycling bins, clean the dishes, remove the bed sheets and clean the house. However, in case you do not want to clean up, which we understand perfectly, we will have to charge you 40 euros. Up to you!
