Moulin des Gobards

Le Moulin des Gobards is a 200 year old watermill. The loft was recently entirely renovated offering two large en-suite bedrooms, living and dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Accessible across a small bridge on our private island we have several small farm animals. Harry the donkey, sheep, goats, chicken, ducks, geese, rabbits... We also have fun activities for kids, a trampoline and slack line. Swing and slide, swimming pool, a little house on stilts, etc... The apartment is completely self contained, equipped for most cooking needs and relaxing after a hard day site seeing. Also the pleasant front terrace has a Webber charcoal BBQ and dining table and chairs for six guests. We are very friendly and usually spend some time with our guests however we also have our own terrace at the back leaving the front of the property and terrace for you to enjoy. Our home is located in southern Burgundy and is only 1km away from another great region of France called Jura where there is lots to visit as well. We are located between Dijon and Lyon which are beautiful cities to visit in one day. Also within less than one hour are Beaune (world capital of wine), Besancon and Chalon-sur-Saone. Less than 40 minutes away are many interesting sites to discover such as the Arlay castle, Baume-les-Messieurs (with a nice cave to visit), Chateau-Chalon, Les cascades du Herisson (nice waterfalls) and the lakes district with natural lakes where you can spend the day on the beach and rent pedal boats! We are also located between two smaller but very interesting cities called Lons-le-Saunier with quite a few shops and nice restaurants and going west the town of Louhans which has a farmers market every Mondays and the longest street of arcades (covered walkway with shops, restaurants and cafes)in all of France. We are in the country so a car is necessary to enjoy all the region has to offer. We have a small dog who is very friendly and great with kids. He does spend most of his time on the front lawn but should never be let inside the gîte.
