We live close by, so on hand to resolve any problems. The house is very close to Abererch beach - about 4 minutes away- and popular villages, such as Abersoch, Llanbedrog, Aberdaron and Morfa Nefyn are within a short drive. The skies here are so clear that star gazing and watching the moon rose over the mountains and reflections on the water, plus incredible sunrise and sunsets are an absolute joy. Boat trips can be arranged both from Pwllheli and Abersoch. A visit to the new life boat station in the marina is a very interesting and informative couple of hours and very exciting to watch her being launched. Porthdinllaen life boat station is well worth a visit and is found at the end of the headland or a pleasant walk along the beach from Morfa nefyn. Again a new station and boat. Only a few miles away from the Ty Coch, the famous pub on the beach at Porthdinllaen, which has recently been voted the third best beach bar in the world! Five golf courses are a short drive away - Pwllheli course about 5 minutes and Morfa Nefyn 27 hole course is 10 minutes away. There are plenty of sailing and water sports available in Pwllheli and Abersoch. Pwllheli marina and the Sailing Academy 5 mins along the road. The narrow gauge railway at Porthmadog takes you either on the Highland route or to Tan-y-bwlch and later in the year to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Portmeirion village and Llanbedrog Plas Glyn y Weddw Art Gallery are close by, plus the castles at Criccieth, Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Harlech. Snowdonia within easy reach with zip worlds, slate caverns and copper mines to explore- pre booking essential. Many restaurants, beach bars and pubs within easy distance providing a wide range of dining indoors or take away options. Quite a few will deliver to the house. Waitrose, Tesco and Asda deliver to the property and for those special occasions we can preorder lobsters, crabs and other seafood for guests. Bus stop at top of drive which runs regularly from Pwllheli to Porthmadog, Caernarfon and Bangor. Train station at Pwllheli from where the Cambrian line runs a regular service to mid Wales - a lovely coastal ride down to Barmouth or further on to Aberdovey for lunch or supper. Local taxis can be booked for evenings out at local restaurants and bars. There is a large lawned garden available for guests to use - ideal for a game of football or riding bikes. The garden runs along the drive and is fenced off from the road and lined with various trees . Farmland surrounds the cottage so we do have country smells and very friendly cows and sheep. Plenty of bird life to observe, woodpeckers, pheasants, herons, egrets and swans . The sound of the curlews is wonderful.
