A unique and romantic hideaway, Honeysuckle Cottage is a luxury converted barn, dating from the 1600s and set in the peaceful, stunning Somerset countryside. With all the modern luxuries you would expect including a large modern log burner and Smart TV. The Cottage is set within 2 acres of grounds including a formal garden with fenced in fish pond, orchard and fruit field. The cottage is ideally suited to couples. Constructed from blue lias stone, the Cottage is a converted barn dating back to the 1600's and shares the 2 acres of land and gardens with our own property, a Grade 2 listed stone cottage. It has a raft of period features; exposed stone, original beams, old bread oven & vaulted roof. The cottage is bursting with character. The lounge area has a large corner sofa, vaulted ceilings and log burner to keep you warm on those winter nights. The bedroom is accessed via the lounge, contains solid oak furniture, a king-size bed with Egyptian cotton bedding. A large window overlooks the pond and formal garden. From the bedroom there is an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The high gloss modern kitchen has a full gas hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer and washing machine. A coffee maker and ground coffee are also provided for your use. We have recently had the UK's fastest broadband installed - 900 Mb. 100 of this is reserved exclusively for the Cottage. The formal gardens surround the cottage with plenty of shaded seating areas. Walking further into the two acres of grounds leads you to the fruit field and orchard. The orchard contains 12 different types of edible apple trees, some of which are no longer available to buy in supermarkets. Feel free to help yourself to whatever fruits are growing when you are here. There is parking onsite for two vehicles but at this time, no charging point for electric vehicles. *Fancy a break from cooking while you're away? Ask us about our home cooked meals and cream teas. Via a secure keysafe We live in a converted Inn on the grounds and are happy to help as and when needed. You will be close to Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and have a wealth of walking routes right on your doorstep. The Castelbrook Inn is the local village pub and is a 3 minute walk from the cottage. If shopping is your thing, the popular Clarke's Village outlet is a 10 minute drive into Street. There are a multitude of walks and some great picnic spots with views towards Glastonbury Tor and the Somerset levels. We own a fully restored VW Campervan that can be rented for day trips to explor the South West. Sorry, but we don't accept bookings with children. We accept a maximum of two (fully housetrained) pets at the property. Please be aware that the garden areas are spread over two acres and it's the countryside. Therefore the borders are hedgerows and the potential for a dog to escape if left to roam the grounds alone is there, especially if they see the local deer through the trees. Please ensure that if your dog is off the leash, you are with them. The gardens areas are securely gated off from any roads. Please let us know if you're bringing pets so that we can leave out some goodies. We also own a dog (a very friendly Australian labradoodle) who you will see if you decide to stay with us. ELECTRIC FENCE Our chickens are kept in a coop that is protected via an electric fence. Please ensure all pets are kept a good distance from the fence for their own safety ELECTRIC VEHICLES We do not have a dedicated charging point so any charging will be via a 13amp socket. Any extension leads used must be rated at 16amp, be fully waterproof and fully uncoiled during charging. There is an additional charge of £10 per day payable onsite for EV charging.
