Beautiful gite, full of character, for 2 to 5 +cot

'La Colline' sleeps 5 and is the largest of three beautiful gites forming part of Barès, a traditional farmhouse in the beautiful Haute Garonne département in the Midi-Pyrénées. Completely self-contained, with its own private entrance, terrace and garden, the gite has ancient beams, wood-burning stove, shared use of the luxury 10 X 5m swimming pool, 1.5 hectares of grounds and stunning views of the Pyrenees. 50 mins from Toulouse, an hour to the Pyrenees and 75 mins to the nearest skiing. Gite La Colline is the oldest part of a traditional farmhouse. An open-plan and well-equipped kitchen-diner leads into the large and airy main bedroom, with king-sized bed and patio doors onto the private terrace. The large bathroom has a WC, large shower, basin and washing machine. The sitting room is at the heart of the gite. It used to be the farm kitchen and has a high ceiling and ancient beams, the original fireplace and bread oven, to which has been added a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in Winter, and stairs (with stair gate) up to a small mezzanine with a single bed (unsuitable for small children). Through the sitting room is the cosy second bedroom with a large double bed. The gite has its own entrance at the front and private terrace and garden, with barbecue, at the back. Although it adjoins the main house, it is completely self-contained and feels very private. It is well-equipped, with bed linen and towels provided and there will be wine, beer, juice, milk, fresh bread, butter, jam, ham, cheese, tea and coffee waiting for you on arrival. Guests from the three gites share the 1.5 hectares of land, the fabulous pool, table tennis and other games, and there are some bikes guests are welcome to borrow. Barès is in the heart of the countryside - completely unspoilt farmland with rolling hills and amazing views of the Pyrenees, which are just over an hour away. It's the perfect place for you if you're a nature-lover, looking for total peace, quiet, and a slower pace of life. The pretty market town of L'Isle en Dodon is just over 10 minutes' drive, with restaurants, shops and a Saturday morning market. The vibrant, historic city of Toulouse is just under an hour away and Carcassonne about 90 minutes. There's plenty of parking at Barès and you will need a car. The nearest shops are just over 10 minutes' drive away (or a hilly 40 - 45 minute cycle!).
