Cob Barn is a recently converted barn on our smallholding, where we have our home and this is one of two self-catering holiday cottages. The beautiful Teme Valley offers a special and varied landscape, with an abundance of wildlife and a wide range of activities and places to visit. For local walks there are many public footpaths with one direct from the door. Cob Barn is a peaceful rural retreat, located in Worcestershire and close to the Herefordshire and Shropshire borders. Cob Barn is a recently converted barn on our smallholding. Each holiday let is an entire separated property, each with an enclosed and private outdoor garden space. There is space to spread out safely within our smallholding fields. In the top field we have separate seating areas for both Cob Barn and its sister Ash Barn. Here the countryside views and the night sky can be enjoyed. We are located in the stunning Teme Valley which offers a special and varied landscape, with an abundance of wildlife and a wide range of activities and places to visit. For local walks there are many public footpaths with one leading off through our fields. Cob Barn is an ideal place for a short break or a longer holiday to explore the local attractions and pretty historic market towns. It is also well placed for exploring further afield. The renowned local pub The Bell is only a 30 minute walk from Cob Barn. Cob Barn is a single level luxury open plan studio barn conversion. This holiday home is semi-detached with sister property Ash Barn, You enter into a delightful enclosed private patio and then through the front door. The space is light and airy with a large glass entrance doorway and a large roof Velux window. Cob Barn has a well equipped kitchen offering an electric oven with induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The cosy living space has a 32"screen smart TV with DVD player. The dining area has a table with seating for two. There is a modern bathroom with an "L" shaped bath and shower. The Bedroom has privacy with a low wall separating it from the living space. The bed is a very comfortable king size. There is storage in two wardrobes and a full length mirror hanging on the door of the one wardrobe. The Velux window has an electric black out blind. The curtains across the french door entrance are black out curtains. Wi fi continuous access The property has full eco-friendly electric heating Free parking directly beside the property. The enclosed patio offers space to dine outside. By the front door is an enclosed storage for walking boots. We have a guest laundry room just a short step from Cob Barn, with a washing machine and tumble dryer. This area is shared with our other holiday Barn – Ash Barn. Please note there are steps to access the laundry room. If you bring bicycles we have an open bike storage area with bolted rings for securing up to two bikes. Cob Barn is suitable for up to two people and not suitable for children. Cob Barn is set on one level. There is a small step up into the garden and a small low threshold step over the front door into the property. Cob Barn has been recently converted into a holiday let, it is the entire space as seen in the photos and description. Each holiday Barn has its own entrance and enclosed garden or patio, so offering privacy. We live in a nearby building and we offer as much or as little help as you need. Cob Barn is located in the beautiful Teme Valley at Stockton-on-Teme offering walking and great views. Within a short driving distance are Witley Court, the Wyre Forest visitor centre, the West Midlands Safari Park, Severn Valley Railway, Shelsley Hill Climb, Ralph Court Gardens, Little Owls Farm Park and 27 hole golf course. The picturesque and historical towns of Bewdley, Stourport on Severn, and the spa town Tenbury Wells, all well known for their attractive riversides are nearby. Also there is Ludlow a thriving medieval town and architectural gem, with a bustling outdoor market and renowned for fine food. Worcester City offers much to see with its magnificent Cathedral, the Museum of Royal Worcester houses the finest and most extensive collection of Worcester Porcelain. Worcester is also famous for the piquant Worcestershire Sauce and has the most picturesque cricket ground in the country. Not to be missed is a visit to the Malvern Hills covering a large area including the Victorian spa town of Malvern itself at the foot of the Malvern Hills. A little further afield are Stratford upon Avon, The Cotswolds, Shrewsbury, Hereford and Ironbridge Gorge Museums with its 10 award winning attractions. Also Cob Barn is only a short drive from various wedding venues – Curradine Barns at Shrawley, The Elms Hotel at Abberley and Safari Venues at West Midland Safari Park, Bewdley. Close to us there are local pubs, restaurants and tea rooms – The Bell Inn is within walking distance. There is so much more to do than is listed here. We have plenty of tourist information available in the property, with a supply of local maps you are welcome to borrow. Within a few miles are a number of small well stocked local shops. Most of the major supermarkets also offer delivery service to our postcode. Below is a list of just some of the more local attractions. We would advise that this is checked out prior to visiting any of these attractions Witley Court & Gardens English Heritage site. The fountain in the Court is fired up on the hour – quite a spectacle. There is also the Tea rooms adjacent to the Court with plenty of outdoor seating. 4.8 miles away – Ralph Court Gardens - A garden for both adults and children, 12 themed gardens to see. Food is served in the café – plenty of outdoor seating. The car park has a large green area where you can picnic. 11 miles away – Ralph Court Gardens Bromyard Bodenham Arboretum - Large woodland to walk around usually with a theme for a children’s quiz , plus pools and some animals. Café with outdoor seating. 15 miles away – Bodenham Arboretum, Wolverley Worcestershire Arley Arboretum - Home to over 300 species of trees and a beautiful Laburnum arch. 17 miles away - Arley Arboretum Lion Lane Upper Arley Worcs Wyre Forest Centre ( only charge is for car parking) Once parked there are miles of woodland walks and cycle tracks. Time your day to allow leaving the train at Arley to look around the Railway museum – Café at museum. This part of the route offers a mixture of lanes and off road dedicated cycle routes. It follows both the river Severn and the Severn Valley Railway and goes through to Bridgnorth. (our local pub so we do recommend) They do Take-away Pizza on Friday night. B4202 Pensax Worcs Witley Tea Rooms – independent café adjacent to Witley Court. Can be accessed via Witley Court or along the track road. Serves excellent tea, cakes, coffee and sandwiches. Large outdoor seating area. 4.7 miles away. Worcester Road Great Witley Worcs. Turn off the A443 in Great Witley at either of Witley Courts former lodge houses. On the right hand side – first lodge in the village (sign posted to Witley Court Baroque Church) second lodge turn after leaving the village – again on the right. Come along the private, unmade road – care the surface is uneven. Parking at the tea room. For food shopping there is a small local store at Abberley, plus the local post office in Great Witley has a good range of food. Tesco can be found at either Stourport on Severn or Tenbury Wells – both 8 miles away We have limited public transport in the area, so a car is necessary to fully enjoy the local area and further afield. There is a good network of public footpaths, with one leading off through our fields. We have local footpath maps that you are welcome to borrow. The Bell Inn is about a 30 minute walk from door to door. Being a rural area there is no street lighting and a torch is helpful if stepping out to the Bell Inn.
