Beautiful farmhouse near Beaugency, Loire Valley
Ideal location near Beaugency on the Loire, 8km, Chambord 18km, Blois/0rleans 30 km.Enormous well equipped farmhouse kitchen, sitting room with French TV, wifi, WC/shower-room. First floor double bedroom with en-suite, twin bedroom (2 singles) and (Website hidden by Airbnb) house in peaceful setting, beautifully restored. Terrasse with garden furniture Three more bedrooms are not included. Linen not included . Minimum stay one week from June to end of September, not let outside these months. very large 400-year old farmhouse with massive open fireplace, beamed ceilings, stone walls, restored original floor tiles, superb renovation from local artisans. Very good setting, large courtyard with orchard and fields been you rent the whole 300 sq.m property, but as we only rent out to 2 or 4 people, you only use 1 or 2 bedrooms. At the top of the large rectangular farm courtyard is my parents’ house, who will try to help with any enquiries, although they do not speak English. They will welcome you on arrival, and if they are away you should find a small note or the key on the front door, just go in and they will meet you later. Cerqueux is a tiny hamlet which comprises a small privately-owned chateau and an arable farm. Josnes our local village has a few village shops including a baker, grocer, cafe/restaurant and a garage/petrol station. Beaugency, a lovely old town is only 10 minutes away with all shops and services, including a Saturday market and about 12 restaurants. Leclerc supermarket and other shops are only 5km in Tavers, on the edge of Beaugency. Paris is 90 minutes maximum by train from Beaugency station. Tours airport in 45 mins away (Ryanair from Stansted airport). To the South of the Loire is the Sologne, one of the best known forests in France for hunting wild boar, collecting mushrooms, growing asparagus and soft fruits. Local Loire Valley wine is justifiably renowned, including Chinon, Bourgeuil, Saumur, Sancerre. Day trips include Orleans, Blois and all the famous chateaux such as Chambord, Cheverny, Amboise. Further information will be in the house and also a ‘house book’ with comments and useful tips from previous tourists. Opposite is a 500-year old barn, and at the bottom of the couryard is an orchard, with arable fields all around.
