Sunrise cottage with pool and large garden
If you are looking for a summer holiday in a tranquil location with your family and friends then you need look no further than Champ Giraud Gites. Set on an acre of land surrounded by fields of sunflower and maize, with woods and quiet lanes for a leisurely stroll, early morning jog or a stroll to the bakery then this is the place for you. there is a pool for a swim or relaxing by plus plenty of space for other activities such as table tennis or a game of boule maybe? Through the front door you step into the lounge, with dining area at the far end leading through into the kitchen and shower room. Upstairs is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine, kettle, fridge and freezer. All the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils that you should need are available. In the lounge you have a flat screen TV showing all French and English free to view channels, DVD player with a selection of DVDs and a collection of books. There is also unlimited WIFI connection and games are available to borrow. Outside, the cottage has two terraces, one to the side and the other at the front, making the most of the sun or shade, if you prefer, throughout the day. Have your breakfast , of freshly baked croissants from the village boulangerie, in the morning sun and enjoy an aperitif and a BBQ in the evening looking out over the garden to the fields beyond. Our two pretty holiday cottages, Sunrise and Sunset , both sleep up to 5 people. Set at each end of the property, either side of our own converted farmhouse, the cottages have their own garden spaces and terraces with a BBQ for al fresco dining. Inside, they have been lovingly restored with rustic stone walls, reclaimed materials, upcycled furniture and vintage fabrics. Why not book both gites for the perfect family holiday? In the main part of the garden, enjoy a swim in the 10m x 5m above ground pool, have a game of table tennis or a game of boule under the trees. Enjoy your holiday and experience rural France at it's best. We are always on hand to help guests with advise on days out (or days in!). Having lived in the area since coming to France we have a wealth of knowledge on the best places to go! A selection of places to go and things to do around Champ Giraud - Angouleme Have a lovely evening in the old quarter of historic Angouleme where you will find a wide selection of restaurants, bars and music events Verteuil Chateau Tours every afternoon in the summer by a French guide but in English as well as French...perhaps followed by a drink in wine cave The Watermill Working watermill that can be seen working for free and making "The best brioche in France" according to James Martin Portebleu Restaurant Excellent English run restaurant with good priced "plat du jour" Canoeing on the Charente river Rental of canoes available from the nearby town of Ruffec (5kms) or further afield in Mansle (15kms) Futuroscope Only an hour away at Poitiers Valley des Singes (Valley of Monkeys) Take a picnic for a day trip and see the large selection of monkeys and apes at the valley des singes..great with the kids or just as a couple La Rochelle Visit the historic port of La Rochelle, only 1.5hrs away. Have a romantic stroll and a plat du jour around the harbor and maybe visit the various museums or the large aquarium. Cognac Visit cognac, perhaps do some tasting tours of the distilleries or a trip on the river on one of the riverboat tours Please note that there are 2 gites on site which share the pool. We also have a Labrador cros dog who is very freindly and we accept other guests pets
