Rowden Mill Station, Bredenbury, Bromyard, sleeps4
Rowden Mill Station is set in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire, around half and hour from Ludlow, Worcester and the M5. Externally the site includes authentic detail from Great Western Railway days. The restoration recreates the look of the station during the 1950s and features original platform lights, signboards and posters of the period. Internally the station is converted for modern living while the platform canopy provides al-fresco dining possibilities and relaxing views. Meticulously renovated, the interiors are converted to an exacting standard for practical living and feature modern conveniences including a fully fitted kitchen and a glorious bathroom. The heating is focused on a wood burning stove in the lounge, supplemented by central heating. We supply firewood. The Station accommodation arrangements are flexible. The Station Building can accommodate 4 in one double bedroom and a set of full size bunk beds in the other bedroom. For parties of above 4 in number we also offer the very comfortable Parcel Office with its fabulous views across the countryside. That is a fully self contained 'tiny house' with its own facilities and wood burning stove. The Parcel Office is set up with a double bed and hosts 2 guests. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE STATION BUILDING SLEEPING A MAXIMUM OF 4 PEOPLE (excluding babies in carry-cots). PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER LISTING IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE BOTH THE STATION AND PARCEL OFFICE. We do not charge for babies in carry-cots, though please let us know if you intend to bring a very young child. We provide a Roku TV box including Netflix, fast WiFi, a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. Outside there is a large gas BBQ, picnic tables and a Mexican chimenea for guest recreational use, however we do not allow open camp fires or smoking in or around the station. Please contact us if you have questions regarding facilities or access. As good neighbours we have a quiet evenings policy, amplified music is not allowed in our grounds. We meet our guests on arrival and present the facilities that the station has to offer. In case of need, guests will often be able to find us around the site during their stay, otherwise we tend to let guests enjoy their time without interruption. As a disused railway no trains pass by, however the site does include 300+ metres of track. We provide an initial guest safety briefing, however as a renovated railway station, Rowden Mill Station does have platform edges and other obvious trip hazards which guests should be aware of. Parents must take full responsibility for the supervision of their children during their stay. The local inn is within walking distance while historic Bromyard is a 5 minute drive, with independent shops, pubs and places to eat. We are excellently positioned to explore the Malvern Hills and the Wye valley, historic Hereford and the ‘Black & White’ villages around Leominster. For those who would like to sample the fine food and drink of Herefordshire, we are an ideal place to discover the cider and perry making trails. The Severn Valley Railway, the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire and the Dean Forest Railway lines are all within one hour’s drive. We are off a country lane within the beautiful countryside of North Herefordshire, only 3 miles out of the market town of Bromyard which offers excellent bakeries and butchers/deli shops plus independent shops, a supermarket, post office, bank, pubs and eateries. By car, we are within half an hour of Hereford, Ledbury, Worcester and Ludlow. Train stations at Leominster (9 miles) and Worcester (19 miles). We have always been committed to clean, but now more than ever! We use approved cleaning products to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. We follow a cleaning check-list which includes sanitising high-touch surfaces. These are some of the many things we do, but we are all in this together. We ask our guests to help us mitigate any risks by following some measures around the property (more to be found on our Arrival/Departure handout). As a self-catering venue, we expect guests to leave the property reasonably clean and tidy with recycling, rubbish and ashes cleared away appropriately. The kitchen oven and oven trays should be left clean and without grease. If used, the BBQ should be left and free of grease, including the drip-tray. Due to current restrictions and to allow time for an extended cleaning and resetting period between stays, our check-in time is now 4pm , our check-out time is now by 9am. We keep our charges to a minimum, but would request a deduction from the security deposit if the property is left in an unreasonable condition and we needed to bring in additional help to make the station ready again between guests. We like to be good neighbours so ask our guests to be considerate in respect to late night noise. We do not allow amplified music outside. Unfortunately, Rowden Mill Station can not accommodate pets. Smoking is not allowed at Rowden Mill Station. There is a contact list in case of emergencies. The station is equipped with smoke and CO2 alarms, fire extinguishers and a first aid kit.
