A Quiet Retreat convenient to public transport

Our home is set amidst trees and gardens and is a peaceful contrast to the city. Your bedroom is large, sunny, quiet, private and comfortable. We have very direct regular routes to downtown Auckland by bus and 2 morning and 2 evening sailings by ferry. You may also park your car at our place. We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life into our home The bedroom doubles as your private sitting room with a 2 seater couch and a desk where you can catch up on emails or set up your laptop and watch a movie! There is plenty of storage space. The room has large windows so it is full of light and looks out over our garden and can let in lots of fresh air. Mostly it is just Eion and Annette living here (although our daughter sometimes pops in for a couple of days) so it is quiet and peaceful. Beach haven has many little bays and nature walks to discover and mostly you will be the only ones there. If you are into fishing our local wharf is 7 minutes walk away. You can swim at any of the bays although they are tidal. Inspite of all this Auckland city is easily accessible by bus (973,974 - about 30 mins) or ferry (40 mins), Both will bring you straight into the centre of Downtown Auckland. We are happy to provide you with a breakfast of toast ( homemade sour dough bread!)tea/coffee to set you up for the day. Otherwise you are welcome to make yourself tea or coffee at anytime. If you wish to share an evening meal with us please give us notice of atleast a day and we will be happy to provide one at a cost of $15.00 per person. Please note that we are vegetarian and when we can, we use our own garden vegetables, if not they will be mostly organic or spray free. Use of kitchen is restricted to making tea and coffee. We love to share our deck and garden and if the weather is fine you are welcome to sit outside your room on the deck to eat your breakfast in the sun! Often either Eion or I will be at home for most of the day so we are accessible should you have questions. We love to meet new people but also know that often people just want their own space and that is fine by us too. Your room is large enough to chill out in but if we are in or if you wish to share a meal that would be fun too! If you aren't into our local walks in the parks or our beaches then you can relax in either of our two local cafes that are also about 7 minutes walk from our home. One is a French cafe and the other is 1950s themed chocolate cafe that serves the best hot chocolates in Auckland!! There is also a variety of takeaway outlets, a Post Office /Bank, chemist, hairdresser It is a very quiet neighbourhood and very friendly. We are a 7 minute walk from the ferry that has early morning sailings into Downtown Auckland and returning sailings late afternoon on weekdays. It operates throughout the day on weekends and includes a stop at Hobsonville wharf which is a minute away from cafes , restaurants, bars and coastal walks and cycle ways.Buses to many of the destinations on the North Shore (including beaches) leave from our local bus stop( 5 minutes walk away) as well as a direct service to Downtown Auckland Buses run from early in the morning until late at night into the city and surrounding areas. A major shopping mall is 7 minutes by car and 9 minutes by bus. Highbury which is a 10 minute drive by car and 18 mins by bus is a vibrant centre of cafes,shops and has a library and many banks. It has a good ambience and great views over the city. Although we only have one toilet in our house it is close to your room. We also have only one shower but it is a very nice one!!! There is a public laundry facility out two blocks away from where we live.
