Birdsong is the loudest noise you will hear, this may include our peacocks who can sometimes be quite noisy! You will have the deepest of sleeps in our supremely comfy beds. Whether you are sipping hot chocolate by one of the 5 log stoves in winter or dining on one of the outdoor terraces in the sunshine you will enjoy every moment! The house is filled with wonderful art by eminent artists such as Hughie O’Donoghue, Louis LeBrocquy, Tony O’Malley, Elizabeth Cope, Michael Mulcahy, Brian Burke, Joseph Sloan and Francis Tansey to name but a very few. There are cream limestone floors, cream linen floor length curtains, marble surfaces in the kitchen and all bathrooms, and a large collection of beautiful Persian rugs thoughout the house. We have planted thousands of deciduous trees in the grounds of this secluded and private 11 acre property. There is parking for at least 10 cars at the front of the house and a further 10 + cars at the east side of the house. The entire house and surrounding lawns are yours exclusively to enjoy. We have a number of animals but they are not in your area. The peacocks are in an aviary at the side of the house, this should not be opened. During your stay we reside in the Lodge on the avenue to Radestown House. I am delighted to help with any queries guests may have. You will be greeted in person by me and I will give you a tour of the house and show you any points of note to enhance your stay. I’m also available for any queries through Airbnb, on my mobile or in person after that. Radestown House is just 4 kilometres from Kilkenny city and only a short taxi ride. This is very beneficial, because after a night out in Kilkenny city centre, people tend to return back at all different times, so there are no surprise expensive taxi fares to contend with. We are close to all amenities. The Newpark Hotel and Spa is 5 minutes drive away. Shops, a church, a pub and petrol/gas stations are 5 minutes drive. City centre is less than 10 minutes drive. I am delighted to help you out with any recommendations for restaurants pubs etc. In Kilkenny you are really spoilt for choice. A car or taxi is needed to get to our house from Kilkenny City. The train station is less than 10 minutes by car. There is a national bus service and bus link to Dublin airport 5 minutes drive away. A taxi/minibus for a group will cost less than €4 per person into the city centre. I can provide you with all details Radestown House is self catering. The house is very large and 4 storeys high so children should be supervised at all times. Please note there are many pieces of valuable art and breakables throughout the house, any damage will be charged for. The house price includes 15 people staying. There is an additional charge of €65 per person per night after 15 guests. We do not take one night bookings. I will refund extra guests charge up to a month before arrival for extra guests who cancel out of your group. This does not apply to cancelled bookings. We do not accept stag party bookings.
