For many decades our 1832 cottage was The Tasmanian Watch and Clock Company. Still affectionately referred to as The Clock Shop or Clock Cottage, it is now an extremely cosy home, combining the ultra-new with the extremely old.A perfect base for exploring Hobart’s museums, waterfront, sights, M.O.N.A and surrounds. What was once the front show room is now a lounge room and the workshop has been transformed into a light, bright kitchenette and diningroom. The office and washroom have been converted in a comfortable bedroom, with walk in robe and bathroom. Parking at the rear for possibly 2 smaller cars and a pool/sauna next door. We are generally nearby and easy to contact if there’s any questions or issues. Situated in the heart of New Town, Hobart’s oldest suburb. Clock Cottage is located in a handy position close to a number of cafes perfect for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee fix (Jackman & McRoss have the best pies you have ever tried). The cottage is not far from North Hobart’s restaurant strip, very close to 3 supermarkets, antique stores, Kmart, doctors, a laundrette across the road, chemists and a pool next door (bookings essential). There’s off street parking and bus stops nearly to your door so you can have a rest from driving. A bus to North Hobart’s restaurant strip is 5 minutes or 2kms away and another kilometre into Hobart’s CBD. Ride the bus to Salamanca as we often do and graze back enjoying the bars & food en-route. If you decide to have a late one, an Uber ride home is very inexpensive We have mainly level access from the rear and throughout the almost all of the cottage other than a very small step into the bedroom and another into the shower.
