Home-from-home, this large, comfortable & private apartment is situated in a beautiful leafy & tranquil suburb on the edge of bushland. Just 25 mins drive to city or beach. Super-floofy towels, hotel-quality sheets, coffee machine, complimentary hamper and the warmest of welcomes are provided. Just a short FLAT walk to transport, shops & restaurants. Fitted with Ventis medical grade filtration heating/cooling throughout, backed up by two air conditioning units for your ultimate comfort. Beautiful, well-equipped, private, large and cozy four-roomed, solar-powered, brick-built retreat, situated in a tranquil and leafy suburb. Just 25 minutes drive to either city or beaches. (Sydney Airport 45 minutes drive.) Separate double bedroom with sumptious hotel-linen sheets and pillowcases, a choice of alternative bedding & shaped pillows and plenty of storage. Fresh bathroom including luxurious towels, shower gel, soap, air freshener, toilet roll and first aid kit. Also, a washing machine and cupboards housing an ironing board, iron, hair-dryer, hair-staighteners and cleaning materials. (Longer stays may need to replenish their own consumables.) Well-equipped kitchen stocked with a Delonghi Nespresso coffee pod machine, microwave oven, electric oven, 4 ring ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, pots and pans, utensils, cutlery/crockery, bread maker, rice cooker and basic essentials. Please 'pay-it-forward' by leaving basics for future guests to enjoy. A circular table which seats four is found in the separate adjoining dining area. Spacious lounge area includes large (black) leather sofa which converts to a comfortable double bed, a three-seater reclining sofa, PanasonicTV with HDMI conectivity, (Hidden by Airbnb) Chromecast, Samsung soundbar & woofer, universal DVD player, a selection of DVDs & books, coffee tables, local information & mood lighting. There is shared use of gardens, pool and washing lines. Solar-powered air conditioning and Ventis home ventilation (also filters allergens) have been fitted for your general comfort, whatever the weather. (Ventis works at its optimum if moisture from outside is not allowed entry to the property.) Your covered private decking houses a cushioned sofa, table and chairs and creates the perfect spot to watch the sun rise or to enjoy an evening drink amongst the bird-song by the glinting solar heated pool. Look out for cockatoos, magpies, lorikeets, brush turkeys and rabbits. We have even seen an echidna, a python, an iguana and a wallaby in the garden, but these sightings are far more rare. This most accommodating residence is just a two minute flat walk to our nearest bus stop (routes to city or beaches). A six minute flat walk will take you to the supermarket/bottle shop, chemist, bakers/coffee shop, restaurants, gluten-free cafe, vets & physiotherapist (which hopefully you'll have no call for during your stay!). Street parking is available, along with a guest parking spot on the driveway. Please note that you will need to reverse back out to the road from the driveway. If you are not confident at reversing, you may be happier to park on the street. For our guests who may have some physical infirmities, please see the photos where the two available access routes are shown. Route one involves a total of eight steps and route two involves just two steps (but more bushes, so potentially more spider webs). There are no steep slopes on our property. The bush can be accessed from our road and a whole variety of walking tracks surround the area. Spend a day adventuring and discover the hidden creeks, flora and fauna. Alternatively, hop onto public transport and enjoy time in the city, at the beach, or further afield. Art galleries, restaurants, the interesting cobbled back streets of The Rocks, or maybe Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed......there really is so much to see and do here! Situated beside our own home, your cozy retreat is separate, private and detached from our house enjoying it's own private front and back entrances. On arrival, ring the doorbell by the front gate and we'll show you to your temporary abode. Your apartment is found past the pool and up just four steps onto the decking. If you're bringing a car please park alongside ours on the driveway and park as far forward as possible so that our car can get out. If you're uncomfortable with reversing out then street parking is usually readily available too. For those with infirmities, please take a look at the photos showing access routes and the few steps involved. There are no steep slopes on this property. We love meeting new people and are very happy to spend ad-hoc time with you. If you'd rather be left alone, that too is absolutely fine, we simply want you to have an enjoyable stay. Please feel free to message/get in touch if there is something we can help you with. Our neighbourhood is a very friendly place to be and the Plaza (just six minutes walk away) adds to create that warm community feel which we all enjoy. There is currently a supermarket/bottle shop, chemist, Italian and Goan restaurants, a gluten-free cafe, physiotherapists, vets, and a bakery. Many more shops and restaurants can be found just a five minute drive away (twenty five minute walk) at St Ives Shopping Village. Across the road from the Plaza is Hassall Park. If you like to keep fit or enjoy watching rugby or cricket, this is a very good and green place to do it. If you have young children with you, there is also a small park attached. Just a short walk to the end of our road, or along to the Wildflower Gardens, you can immerse yourself in a whole new bushland experience where there are walking tracks for every level of fitness, including paved tracks suitable for strollers and wheelchairs and equipment to aid your workout. Public transport is found just a two minute flat walk away. Buses travel either to the beaches (journey takes around 30 minutes) or to Gordon Station (journey takes around 10/15 minutes) to catch a train to the city (30 minute train ride) or elsewhere. To travel, first collect an Opal card from a local newsagents. The Opal card is a free smartcard ticket that you load value onto and keep for travel on all public transport in Sydney, and the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra and Southern Highlands. When you tap on at an Opal card reader to start your journey, and tap off at the end of your journey, the system will automatically calculate your fare and deduct it from the value stored on your Opal card. If you are travelling to and from the Sydney Airport train stations, you will need to pay the additional station access fee on top of your fare. To travel from Sydney Airport one would need to head to Central Station and then take a train to Gordon on the North Shore Line. Buses 196/197 travel along Mona Vale Road to Kitchener Street. (There is also a 197 which goes to Maquarie, so be careful to get on the correct bus.) To drive from the airport would take around 45 mins-1 hour depending on traffic. Uber and taxis are also readily available in the area. Every 'touch' surface is thoroughly disinfected between guests, in the hope of preventing the spread of Covid-19 and other germs. If travelling with youngsters, please be aware of trip hazards. Please also be mindful of stored cleaning materials within the apartment and of any accessible electricals or sharps which could be potentially hazardous. We have endeavoured to attach the bookcase to the wall yet would remind parents this is not to be climbed up. The TV has not been secured. If you allow your children to climb about, they may become injured. We take no responsibility for your children's safety. Please supervise them at ALL times. Please double-check and clean-up any stickiness created on walls and surfaces.
