THE SPACE 3 bedrooms with beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom. There are daybeds throughout the villa with with panoramic views across the Lombok Straits, sun lounges by the large infinity pool looking across to the Islands of Nusa Penida and Lembongan. Ground floor : A spacious bedroom suite with AC and fan, and large garden bathroom with sunken tub. Upper Floor : a spacious bedroom suite with ceiling-fan and large bathroom, and a smaller bedroom with ceiling fan and private bathroom. All of the other living spaces on the house are ceiling fan-cooled. The largest nearby town of Candi Dasa is only 4 km away, and many restaurants will send a car to collect you - so transport is never a problem. We can arrange a driver for you to discover beautiful East Bali, and each room carries a full description of local sights and trips, so you can plan your next day from bed! Host’s Tip: Make time to enjoy an evening at Vincent’s Jazz restaurant in Candi Dasa. They will send a car to collect you and bring you home, free of charge! We REALLY look forward to sharing our little paradise with you. The entire villa is your private space - and you have free access to all parts of the villa and property. There are 4 staff, on-call as required, plus 24/7 security, but you have the ability to lock the world out whenever you feel like it! Good wifi throughout the villa, including at the seafront deck and gazebo. You'll have the villa to yourselves, but I'll send you detailed descriptions of things to do in beautiful East Bali ; perhaps you'd like a cooking lesson with our executive chef, or discover the island of Nusa Lembongan, go white water rafting or discover the unique textile traditions of this region of Bali. Whatever your interest, I can put you in touch with experts in their field, and the full-time villa staff will be happy to help you at all times. WINING and DINING Mendira Village is just 5 km west of Candi Dasa, where you'll find delightful restaurants, some with excellent international cuisine - some will send a free car to collect you - just ask our staff to call the restaurant for you. Mendira Village has several excellent seaside 'warungs', or local restaurants with delicious food from $4 a dish - all within easy walking distance of the villa. Villa Nilaya features an extensive menu with authentic Balinese flavours, and the services of the chef are included in the villa price, so you only pay for the meals you order (prices are on par with those in the local warungs). You can pre-order a meal to be ready upon your arrival and we have a good wine list, from which you can pre-order prior to your arrival if you wish. ABOUT OUR VILLAGE of MENDIRA - THINGS TO DO Mendira is welcoming and friendly, maintaining traditional Hindu culture and traditions You don't need to travel for great SNORKELING - it's right at the front of the villa, and the dive wrecks of Tulamben make a great day trip. We can help you organise snorkeling gear. If deeper sea DIVING or PADI courses are your thing, we can assist you with recommended Dive Masters who will pick you up and tailor the diving to your wishes and ability. Marvel at the spectacle of Mt Agung viewed from the sea - take a BOAT TRIP on a local fishing vessel - they will come in and collect you directly from the shore in front of the villa. Take a picnic basket, or set off for a day on the 'white sand beach' and enjoy BBQ fish! FARTHER AFIELD Mendira is an excellent base from which to explore Central and Eastern Bali - regions of astounding beauty and cultural authenticity. Our local taxi cooperative will provide a competitively-priced transport service to anywhere on the island, or you can hire a motorbike in our village. We can arrange taxi collection from you from anywhere on the island, and assist with organising various adventure activities including boating, diving, trekking and cultural explorations, so please contact the owner for specific details.
