Stylish Somerset Cottage

Our beautiful cottage is available as a peaceful home away from home in rural hamlet of Hurcott, just a mile outside of the market town, Somerton. We have 2 bedrooms, for small families or 3 adults. A large yard with plenty of space for al fresco dining. Hurcot is a hamlet of just a few cottages, surrounded by woodland walks and farmland. 1 mile away from Somerton where you can find several antique shops and pubs (The White Hart is our fave). 7 mins off the A303 Although an old cottage, we have decorated with modern, stylish furnishings and art. The cottage is 2 bed, both flooded with light from the hugh skylights (with blackout blinds!) One is a cosy little room, ideal for kids, one adult or for use as a study. We have a large modern Kitchen/Diner with oven, hob, fridge, washing machine and dishwaher. The Sitting room is light and airy with French doors out onto the patio and yard. There is a downstairs loo as well as the bathroom upstairs. The location is rural, so you'll need a car, but there are several pubs on the walking paths that pass through the hamlet. We have recently added a new lawn wit a patio ad raised planted beds so you can enjoy being outside all day. over the summer we will enjoy planting up the rest of the yard which is currently graveled. We have parking for 2 cars inside the gate. You will have the hole place, garden.... the whole shebang. We use the house often, but will move our personal items into a locked cupboard while you are staying. Please help yourself to any food or drinks we leave out in the kitchen.. there will be plenty of condiments, oils, pantry items etc to use for cooking. The keys will be left in a keybox in the yard. We will be available over phone for your stay, but you will be left alone to enjoy the peace and quiet. Our Hamlet is tiny, just a few houses. Our neighbours are lovely quiet people, who will certainly say hello if you see them out walking. There are several walking routes passing through the the nearby farm. You'll need a car. That said, for day trips we are only a few miles from Castle Cary and Yeovil Junction Train stations. 7 miles from the A303, and a journey time of 2.5 hours to London if you avoid traffic As mentioned this is a (Website hidden by Airbnb) no shops or pubs for a mile. The real countryside. The shops in Somerton are wonderful, but do keep rather conservative hours (a shock if you're coming from London) so make sure you stock up on groceries (and wine) during the daytime.
